Indonesia is ready to compete at full strength after securing a total of eight qualification slots across three disciplines in sport climbing

The Indonesian sport climbing team at the 2026 Asian Games has once again drawn attention after securing full quotas in the three main disciplines: speed, lead, and boulder. Following the qualification results from the 2026 World Climbing Asia Championship, Indonesia has officially selected its top athletes to compete in Aichi–Nagoya, Japan.

This achievement reflects the growing quality and maturity of Indonesian sport climbers, who are now capable of competing at the Asian level. In total, Indonesia secured eight qualification spots across all three events.

Lead Discipline: Indonesia Secures Full Quota

In the lead discipline, Indonesia successfully secured the maximum quota for both men and women.

The two key athletes who secured qualification are Raviandi Ramadhan and Alma Ariella Tsany. Both finished ninth in their respective semifinal categories, which was sufficient to secure qualification under the rule allowing a maximum of two athletes per country.

In addition, two other athletes had already secured their tickets earlier: Putra Tri Ramadani and Sukma Lintang Cahyani. With these results, Indonesia’s sport climbing team at the 2026 Asian Games has completed its maximum quota in the lead discipline.

Speed Discipline: Indonesia’s World-Class Strength

In the speed discipline, Indonesia once again demonstrated its dominance as one of the leading forces in the world.

The qualified athletes are Veddriq Leonardo, Aditya Tri Syahria, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi, and Berthdigna Devi Surya Kusuma. Their presence further strengthens Indonesia’s position in sport climbing at the 2026 Asian Games, particularly in speed climbing, which has long been one of Indonesia’s medal-winning strengths.

Boulder Discipline: Rising Indonesian Talent

In the boulder discipline, Indonesia also secured qualification through strong performances by Raviandi Ramadhan and Ravianto Ramadhan. This result highlights that Indonesia’s sport climbing team at the 2026 Asian Games is not only strong in speed but is also steadily developing in more technical disciplines such as boulder.

In total, Indonesia has secured eight official qualification spots:
