Showcasing Italy's finest cinema to Indonesian viewers through an enthralling festival experience

The Indonesian film stage will be enlivened by the prestigious presence of the Venice International Film Festival through the Italian Film Festival 2024 (ITAFF): Venice In Jakarta. From April 24 to 28, 2024, five selected films from the Venice International Film Festival 2023 will be screened for free at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Jakarta and Institut Francais Bandung.

Bennedetto Latteri, the Italian Ambassador, expressed that the presence of the third edition of ITAFF signifies the high enthusiasm among Indonesian film enthusiasts for Italian cinema. He also highlighted that the partnership with the Venice International Film Festival has enriched this year's festival experience.

Meanwhile, Maria Battaglia, Director of the Italian Film Festival and director of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Jakarta, added that ITAFF 2024: Venice In Jakarta brings honor to Indonesian audiences by presenting the world's oldest film festival. She hopes to enhance Indonesian viewers' appreciation for Italian cinema and inspire filmmakers in both countries.

The five films featured in this festival are selected works from the Venice International Film Festival 2023, including those that have won prestigious awards. Additionally, the presence of several successful Indonesian filmmakers on the international stage highlights the diversity and quality of Indonesian cinema.

Furthermore, Makbul Mubarak, director of the film "Autobiography," underscored the importance of Italy's support in the success of Indonesian cinema. He described this as a crucial momentum for cross-cultural and cinematic collaboration, citing the recognition of "Autobiography" at the Venice International Film Festival.
