TAMAN BENDERA PUSAKA OPENS AS A VIBRANT EXPANSIVE INTEGRATED GREEN SPACE IN SOUTH JAKARTA
A revitalized urban oasis brings together nature, recreation, and connectivity, offering a fresh experience for city life in the heart of the capital
The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta has introduced Taman Bendera Pusaka as a new green open space in South Jakarta. The park was inaugurated on March 14, 2026, by Governor Pramono Anung after the completion of construction and area development.
Covering approximately 5.6 hectares, Taman Bendera Pusaka is the result of combining three existing parks: Taman Ayodya, Taman Langsat, and Taman Leuser. These areas are now connected into one large and integrated space, creating a more functional public area for the community.
The integration includes a red and white themed bridge that serves as a visual highlight of the park, along with a tunnel that makes it easier for visitors to move between different sections. This design improves accessibility while creating a smoother and more comfortable experience for visitors.
The park is designed to support various public activities, with a strong focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle. One of its main features is a 1.2 kilometer jogging track that surrounds the park and can be used for both running and walking.
In addition, the park provides several sports facilities, including basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts. There is also a padel court, which is one of the key attractions and can be used by the public free of charge. Multifunctional courts are also available, giving visitors more flexibility to enjoy different types of physical activities in one place.
Beyond sports, Taman Bendera Pusaka also serves as a space for family recreation. Its wide green areas can be used for relaxing or having a picnic. The pedestrian pathways throughout the park add to the overall comfort and convenience for visitors.
From an environmental perspective, the park plays an important role in supporting the city’s ecosystem. The government has implemented drainage systems and green infrastructure to improve water absorption and help manage rainwater. The park is home to 12 types of plants, with around 285 trees, including rare species such as menteng, ebony, cempaka, and kecapi.
With the opening of Taman Bendera Pusaka, South Jakarta now has a public space that not only supports community activities but also contributes to the city’s environmental sustainability.
