SKYWARD PROJECT BANDUNG, AN EDUTAINMENT EXPERIENCE ABOVE THE CITY ROOTED IN STORY AND HISTORY

An immersive rooftop playground where imagination and adventure blend seamlessly, creating a memorable experience for visitors of every age

Amid the wide range of entertainment destinations in Bandung, Skyward Project, an edutainment attraction located at Rooftop 23 Paskal Mall, stands out with a distinctive concept. By blending games, urban history, and adventure driven narratives within a single recreational space, Skyward Project offers a family friendly alternative that goes beyond pure thrills, placing equal emphasis on storytelling and meaning.

From the moment visitors step inside, they are welcomed by a memorable atmosphere. The interior is designed to resemble an old railway station, enriched with visual details inspired by the Pasir Kaliki area and Bandung’s role in the early development of technology and transportation. These design choices turn each activity into an imaginative journey, inviting visitors to explore the past while engaging with a carefully crafted story.

At the heart of Skyward Project lies a strong fictional narrative. The story of Ferdinand, a brilliant professor from the City of River Sand, serves as the unifying thread throughout the attraction. His unchecked ambition to create advanced technology is expressed through the design of the rides, dramatic lighting, Raktavara bird ornaments, and the Zeppelin icon that dominates the main area. This cohesive approach ensures the attraction feels like a continuous world rather than a series of disconnected games.

The historical references to Pasir Kaliki are also conveyed through both visual and narrative elements. The concept of pasir, meaning sand, is represented literally in several areas, while Kaliki draws inspiration from the red kaliki plant, which later became the dominant color in the interior design. These ideas are clearly reflected across the space, including the slides that have become signature features of Skyward Project.

In terms of facilities, Skyward Project shows a strong commitment to family comfort and accessibility. The attraction currently features six slides, comprising five adult slides and one kids slide located in the Khaliki Mountain area. Two Raktavara themed flying fox rides, Flying Bird and Flying Human, offer different heights and speeds to suit varying levels of adrenaline. Educational mini games in the Hall of Chronicles further enhance the experience through interactive learning.

Supporting facilities are comprehensive and thoughtfully arranged, including spacious lockers, bathrooms with showers, towels, hair dryers, and hair straighteners. Access for strollers and wheelchairs is also available, reinforcing its appeal as a family friendly destination for visitors of all ages. Skyward Project operates daily from 10.00 am to 10.00 pm WIB, with the evening hours offering a noticeably different atmosphere, highlighted by dramatic lighting around the Zeppelin area and the slides.

By combining entertainment, education, and storytelling, Skyward Project presents a play space with depth and purpose. It is not merely a place to play, but a destination that invites visitors to engage in a richer and more meaningful experience.
