ARCHIPELAGO BECOMES INDONESIA’S FIRST HOTEL GROUP TO PROVIDE ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING FACILITIES

Offering an eco-friendly stay with electric vehicle charging facilities available in multiple cities

Archipelago, one of Indonesia’s leading hotel operators, has officially become the first hotel group in the country to provide electric vehicle charging stations across multiple locations. This strategic move highlights Archipelago’s commitment to innovation in the hospitality industry while contributing to the advancement of green mobility and sustainable tourism nationwide.

In the initial phase of the project, EV charging stations have been installed at ten Archipelago properties in major cities including Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Bali, and Medan. With these facilities available, guests driving electric vehicles can conveniently recharge during their stay without the need to search for external charging points.

Providing EV charging stations is more than just enhancing guest convenience. It reflects a genuine commitment to building a greener future for Indonesia, said John Flood, CEO of Archipelago. We are proud to support the national effort to accelerate electric vehicle adoption by making charging access more convenient through our hotel network.

This initiative is part of Archipelago’s broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy. In addition to EV charging stations, Archipelago has implemented various sustainability programs, including building retrofits to improve energy efficiency, the use of LED lighting, reduced single-use plastics, refillable amenities, food waste management, and water conservation technologies.

The EV charging facilities at Archipelago hotels are compatible with most electric vehicle models currently available in Indonesia. These charging stations are accessible not only to hotel guests but also to members of the public in surrounding areas. Available 24 hours a day, the stations are designed to maximize convenience without disrupting the routines or activities of guests during their stay.

Some of the Archipelago hotels now offering EV charging stations include Aston Pasteur Bandung, Aston Serang Hotel and Convention Center, Aston Cilegon Boutique Hotel, Aston Anyer Beach Hotel, The Alana Sentul City, favehotel Cimanuk Garut, favehotel Madiun, Harper Purwakarta, Hotel Neo Tendean Jakarta, Hotel Neo Plus Kebayoran Jakarta, Harper Wahid Hasyim Medan, Aston Gresik Hotel and Conference Center, and Harper Kupang.

Through this investment, we want to be part of building a tourism industry in Indonesia that is more responsible, environmentally conscious, and aligned with the latest technological advancements, added John Flood. This initiative further solidifies Archipelago’s position as a pioneer in bringing green technology to the hospitality sector.
