THE LANESBOROUGH PARTNERS WITH NETFLIX AND SHONDALAND TO LAUNCH QUEEN CHARLOTTE-THEMED AFTERNOON TEA
London's luxurious hotel, The Lanesborough, has teamed up with Netflix and Shondaland to launch an exclusive Queen Charlotte-themed afternoon tea.
London's luxurious hotel, The Lanesborough, has teamed up with Netflix and Shondaland to launch an exclusive Queen Charlotte-themed afternoon tea, inspired by the popular series, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
Set to launch on May 4th, the limited-edition tea will pay tribute to the Regency era, a time of high style and elegance, and will offer a contemporary twist.
The Queen Charlotte Afternoon Tea will be served in The Lanesborough's stunningly decorated dining room, illuminated during the day by a domed glass roof, while softly lit chandeliers create an enchanting atmosphere in the evening. The dining room's Regency neo-classical grandeur is evoked by bas-relief artwork cast from 250 different moldings and Wedgwood china mounted on the walls.
Head Pastry Chef, Salvatore Mungiovino, has created a carefully crafted menu that pays tribute to the key characters in Queen Charlotte, as well as The Lanesborough House, which was remodeled in the fashionable classical style by William Wilkins in 1825. The menu will feature finger sandwiches such as tea-cured salmon, lemon and caper cream, Coronation chicken, golden raisin, fresh coriander, deviled egg mayonnaise, mustard cress, organic cucumber, cream cheese, basil, and chive, along with Montgomery cheddar scones with cheese custard. The Lanesborough's signature scones, cream, and jam will also be served.
Mungiovino's curated cake and sweet treat concept will feature four signature highlights inspired by the Queen Charlotte series. The treats include 'Your Majesty,' an exquisite hand-crafted sharing cake with hues of gold and red, dedicated to the star of the show Queen Charlotte, 'King George Dreams of Venus,' a cake of distinction made of 54% chocolate mousse and jasmine-infused dark chocolate ganache in honor of King George III and his love of astronomy, 'The Lady Violet,' an elegant chocolate bavaroise, mango compote, lime chantilly, seated on shortbread finished with tempered chocolate, and sugar flowers, and 'Danbury Delight,' showcasing the Danbury signature purple, made from Berryiolette pistachio gateaux, combined with a vanilla whipped ganache, sitting on a vanilla sable base finished with purple tempered chocolate.
To complete the experience, The Lanesborough's Head of Bars, Mickael Perron, has created 'The Queen Charlotte Cocktail,' a refreshing blend of Fords Gin, Chambord liqueur, cranberry, exotic lychee, home vanilla sweetness, and lime sunshine, topped with champagne for the royal seal of approval. For those who prefer a non-alcoholic option, The Queen Charlotte offers Noughty Sparkling Rosé, served with cranberry juice, exotic lychee, home vanilla sweetness, and lime sunshine.
The Lanesborough's Queen Charlotte Afternoon Tea is priced from £75 per person, with the option to add The Queen Charlotte cocktail or a glass of House Champagne for £85 and £90 per person, respectively. The tea is also available as a vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free option. Children's afternoon tea is available for £35 per person for children under 12.
According to The Lanesborough's General Manager, Marco Novella, "Our Queen Charlotte Afternoon Tea offers a unique and enchanting way to experience the Regency era, inspired by the Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
