SEVEN DECADES OF FRIENDSHIP: A REFINED AND FESTIVE CULTURAL EVENING HONORING POLAND–INDONESIA DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS
A captivating diplomatic celebration that blended culture, unity, and shared achievements into an evening filled with warmth
The diplomatic ties between Poland and Indonesia reached a meaningful milestone on 13 November 2025 through an official reception hosted by the Embassy of Poland in Jakarta. The event marked the 70th anniversary of bilateral relations, formed part of the Poland Festival 2025, and commemorated Poland’s Independence Day. Held at 18:30 WIB, the reception brought together ambassadors, senior officials, and distinguished guests from various sectors.
The evening began with welcoming remarks from Samuel Halim, representing the Embassy of Poland. Guests then stood for the national anthem of the Republic of Poland, followed by the national anthem of the Republic of Indonesia, reflecting mutual respect and the close friendship between both nations.
Ambassador of Poland to Indonesia, H.E. Barbara Szymanowska, served as the host of the event and delivered a speech emphasizing the significance of bilateral cooperation that has grown steadily over the past seven decades. This was followed by remarks from H.E. Władysław Bartoszewski, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, who reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening collaboration across key strategic areas.
The program continued with a speech by H.E. Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, Indonesia’s Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, who highlighted the lasting partnership and shared aspirations of Poland and Indonesia within the global landscape.

A key ceremonial moment was the cake-cutting and joint toast led by the VVIP guests, including H.E. Władysław Bartoszewski, H.E. Barbara Szymanowska, Mr. Krzysztof Mulawa, Mr. Tomasz Głogowski, and Mr. Wiesław Różyński. The collective toast, accompanied by the traditional expression Na zdrowie, symbolized celebration and optimism for the future.

Beyond the formal proceedings, guests were invited to enjoy an authentic display of Polish culture. An exhibition of Polish amber, known as Baltic gold, was presented through a jewelry show featuring Indonesian models. The atmosphere grew even livelier with a musical performance by the Quinten music band, which showcased a selection of Polish songs.

Throughout the evening, attendees were treated to various Polish culinary specialties, including a live cooking station featuring pierogi, traditional Żubrówka beverages, and a photobooth that quickly became a popular attraction. The event was supported by a range of partners and sponsors, such as the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, Pomeranian Development Agency, Hortex, Bogutti, Lakitma, Dolina Sharlotty, New Life Bali, Koding Next, Bali Hai, Kapal Api, Wiragarda, and Asvinia.
The celebration served as a vibrant expression of Polish cultural heritage while reaffirming the strong and growing relationship between Poland and Indonesia. Guests concluded the evening with a sense of warmth and delight, enjoying the food, entertainment, and festive atmosphere.
