MAMMA MIA! THE MUSICAL RE-RUN 2025 CAPTIVATES THOUSANDS WITH A HEARTWARMING PERFORMANCE
A dazzling celebration of love, music, and emotion that left thousands of hearts singing and soaring
Jakarta Art House successfully presented Mamma Mia! The Musical Re-run 2025 at Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jakarta, from May 21 to June 1, 2025. Over the course of 14 performances, more than 12,000 spectators were drawn into the touching story centered on the bond between mother and daughter.
With vibrant energy and a refined production, the show delivered more than just entertainment. It created a personal and emotional experience that resonated deeply with both the audience and the cast. The warmth of the storyline brought an intimate and inviting atmosphere to every show.
The redesigned stage offered a fresh and immersive setting, featuring a grand visual design that evoked the scenic charm of the Greek island where the story unfolds.
This production also marked Jakarta Art House’s first venture into a full-scale musical, showcasing not only the growing public enthusiasm for musical theater but also the organization’s dedication to enhancing Indonesia’s performing arts landscape.
Adding a distinctive element, the production featured two alternating pairs of lead actors. The role of Sophie Sheridan was played by Maria Giena and Mutiara Azka, while Donna Sheridan was portrayed by Mirabeth Sonia and Ashley Aisyah. This approach brought new dimensions to each performance, making every show a unique experience worth seeing more than once.
Supporting actors including Albertus Raynaldi as Bill Austin, Bran S. Vargas as Sam Carmichael, and Gusty Pratama as Harry Bright delivered strong performances with engaging character portrayals and impressive vocals. Backed by ABBA’s iconic hits, the musical invited audiences to reminisce and sing along throughout the show.
To further enhance the emotional impact, Jakarta Art House also introduced a social experiment titled Relung Rasa. This interactive platform allowed attendees to share heartfelt messages with their loved ones, adding a personal and reflective layer to the theater experience.
Mamma Mia! The Musical Re-run 2025 received an overwhelmingly positive response and served as a powerful reminder that musical theater continues to hold a meaningful place in the hearts of Indonesian audiences.
