EXPLORING THE MARVELS OF 'KIDS GO WILD' BRONZE SCULPTURES AT THE LANESBOROUGH, LONDON
Explore the enchanting bronze sculptures, blending artistry with conservation to celebrate the wonders of wildlife.
In summer 2024, The Lanesborough, London, proudly announces its participation in The Kensington and Chelsea Art Week. As part of its ongoing art program, this luxurious hotel will host an outdoor exhibition featuring stunning bronze sculptures crafted by British and Australian artists, Gillie and Marc.
Dubbed 'Kids Go Wild', this exhibition is a joint effort between the Knightsbridge Partnership and King’s Road Partnership. It presents eleven remarkable bronze sculptures acclaimed as the most successful and prolific creators of public art in New York's history by the New York Times. These artworks not only embellish over 250 cities globally but also aim to raise awareness about endangered animals in collaboration with the Zoological Society of London (ZSL).
Beyond their visual allure, these sculptures serve as a call to action to protect endangered wildlife. Amid increasingly threatened natural environments, the exhibition invites the public to contemplate the beauty of the wild and the urgency of biodiversity conservation.
While the natural world offers unparalleled joy and wonder, it faces grave threats with numerous species teetering on the brink of extinction. The 'Kids Go Wild' exhibition not only encourages visitors to admire art but also educates them on the critical importance of safeguarding these animals.
Each bronze sculpture not only stands as a masterpiece but also acts as an educational tool. QR codes linked to each artwork provide visitors with crucial information about the lives, needs, and threats faced by various animal species. This accessibility ensures that people from all walks of life can engage with wildlife conservation, turning it into a focal point in urban settings.
Steven Medway, CEO of Knightsbridge bid, commented, "This summer, we are launching Knightsbridge's inaugural public art trail featuring eleven bronze sculptures scattered along Brompton Road and King’s Road, promising delight and wonder for visitors of all ages. We are thrilled to have The Lanesborough participate by hosting this unique spectacle, offering a delightful surprise for guests to enjoy."
The exhibition runs officially from June 14th to August 30th, 2024, with one of its highlights being the Giant Tortoise bronze sculpture welcoming visitors at The Lanesborough. Don't miss this opportunity to experience the beauty of public art and contemplate our role in safeguarding this increasingly fragile ecosystem.
