A captivating celebration where unity, expression, and collaboration intertwined in connection

To celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Cyprus, the Embassy of Cyprus to Indonesia and ASEAN held a special reception that brought together diplomacy, art, and music. The event took place on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Ciputra Artpreneur Gallery in South Jakarta and was attended by distinguished guests from the diplomatic community, government officials, and notable figures from the arts and culture sectors.

H.E. Nikos Panayiotou, Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Indonesia and ASEAN, officially opened the celebration with remarks highlighting the importance of friendship and cooperation between the two nations. The Government of Indonesia was represented by an official from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, who attended as the country’s representative and conveyed a message of friendship between Indonesia and Cyprus. In his speech, he reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to strengthen collaboration across various fields, including maritime affairs, fisheries, trade, and other sectors.

The celebration offered a remarkable fusion of diplomacy and contemporary art. Through an art installation titled The Table, artists Marina Ieridou from Cyprus and Era Premakara from Indonesia presented a multisensory experience that allowed guests to explore the harmony of cross-cultural connections through visuals, sound, and an interactive spatial setting. Their collaboration embodied the spirit of dialogue between two distinct nations united by shared values of beauty, creativity, and friendship.

In addition to the captivating installation, the evening featured a musical performance that added warmth and vibrancy to the celebration. A DJ performance at the end of the night infused the atmosphere with energetic rhythms, symbolizing the dynamic and youthful spirit of the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Guests dressed in business attire or batik, contributing to an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere filled with cultural appreciation. With its modern and artistic design, the Ciputra Artpreneur Gallery served as an ideal venue to merge diplomatic values with creative expression in a meaningful celebration.
