The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Jakarta hosted a state reception to celebrate Croatia’s Statehood Day on May 30, 2025. Held at The Ballroom, Four Seasons Hotel, Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto Kavling 18, Jakarta, the event created a warm and meaningful atmosphere. Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono attended the reception to honor the significance of the ties between the two countries. Agus expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Croatian people’s dedication and struggle to preserve their sovereignty and independence. He also personally congratulated the Croatian Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr. Nebojša Koharovi?, for his role in enhancing diplomatic relations.

Agus highlighted his hope that cooperation between Indonesia and Croatia will continue to grow and become even stronger in the years ahead. In an Instagram post, he said, “May the spirit of democracy and the values of nationalism continue to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Indonesia and Croatia.” This statement reflects a shared commitment to building a relationship grounded not only in political interests but also in democratic and national values.

Indonesia and Croatia established diplomatic relations in 1992, shortly after Croatia gained independence as a new country in Eastern Europe. Since then, both nations have steadily expanded their cooperation across various strategic sectors. Beyond politics and security, collaboration has grown in education, economy, tourism, and culture. This shows that the Indonesia-Croatia partnership goes beyond formal ties, based on mutual benefit and genuine partnership.
