INDONESIA WINS 6 MEDALS AT 2026 WORLD PARA ARCHERY EVENT
Indonesia won six medals at the 2026 Hyundai World Archery Para Series in Bangkok, boosting confidence ahead of the 2026 Asian Para Games.
Indonesia’s para archery team once again delivered a proud achievement on the international stage. At the 2026 Hyundai World Archery Para Series, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from March 30 to April 4, 2026, Team Indonesia brought home six medals. The impressive haul included three gold medals, one silver, and two bronze, securing Indonesia the runner up spot in the final medal standings behind India.
This achievement is a positive sign for Indonesia’s journey toward the 2026 Asian Para Games and the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics. More than just a medal count, the results in Bangkok highlighted the country’s strong athlete development, champion mindset, and growing readiness to compete at the highest level.
A Strong Performance in Bangkok
The 2026 Hyundai World Archery Para Series was a key event in the race for ranking points toward the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics. Indonesia arrived in Bangkok with high expectations and managed to exceed them through consistent performances throughout the tournament.
Out of the six medals won, the three gold medals became the biggest highlight. This result ensured Indonesia finished second in the overall medal standings, behind India, who claimed the top spot. The success also proved that Indonesia’s para archers are becoming increasingly competitive on the global stage, especially in the recurve category, which remains one of the team’s strongest events.
Riyanti Ananda Emerges as a New Star
One of the most exciting stories from the championship came from Riyanti Ananda. The debutant athlete from South Kalimantan made an immediate impact in her first official World Archery event.
Riyanti won two gold medals and one bronze medal. She claimed her first gold in the women’s team recurve event alongside Noviera Ross after delivering a solid performance throughout the competition. Her second gold came in the mixed team recurve event, where she partnered with senior archer Kholidin. In addition, Riyanti also earned a bronze medal in the recurve women open category.
Riyanti’s outstanding debut is clear proof that Indonesia’s athlete regeneration is heading in a very positive direction. She displayed remarkable composure, focus, and technical skill under pressure.
Kholidin Defeats a Paralympic Champion
In addition to Riyanti, Kholidin also delivered an exceptional performance and became one of Indonesia’s key contributors.
The experienced senior archer won gold in the recurve men open event after defeating India’s Singh Harvinder, the Paris 2024 Paralympic gold medalist, in a convincing final. This victory became one of Indonesia’s most prestigious moments in Bangkok.
Not only did Kholidin shine individually, but he also played a crucial role in the mixed team recurve event with Riyanti to secure another gold medal for Indonesia. His experience and calmness were vital in maintaining the team’s stability under the pressure of world class competition.

However, participation in both events is still subject to geopolitical developments and travel related factors. Even so, the results in Bangkok have already proven that Indonesia has a strong foundation to continue competing at the highest level.

With a strong mix of experienced senior athletes and promising young talent, Indonesia is now more ready than ever to face the world stage with confidence.
