
"YOHANNA" RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS 2025 TEMPO FILM FESTIVAL AWARD

The film Yohanna (2024), directed by Razka Robby Ertanto, earned the highest honor as Tempo’s Film of Choice at the 2025 Tempo Film Festival (FFT). This prestigious event took place on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, celebrating the finest achievements in Indonesian cinema. The awards night was attended by filmmakers, actors, actresses, and special guests, making for an unforgettable evening.
A Night of Elegance and Style
FFT 2025 guests embraced the smart casual dress code, prioritizing both comfort and sophistication. Actresses such as Sha Ine Febriyanti, Happy Salma, Shenina Cinnamon, Ayushita, Laura Basuki, and Widuri Puteri captivated attendees with their stunning ensembles, each reflecting their unique fashion sensibilities. Many also proudly wore batik and kebaya, paying homage to Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage.
A Grand Opening and Stellar Performances
The event was hosted by Indy Barends and Aldo Turangan, whose dynamic presence set the tone for the night. The excitement continued with musical performances from Sal Priadi and Idgitaf, who performed original soundtrack (OST) songs from nominated films. Sal Priadi delivered the OST from 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan, while Idgitaf performed the OST from Home Sweat Loan, further elevating the evening’s atmosphere.
Yohanna Named Tempo’s Film of Choice 2025
Yohanna (2024) claimed the top prize, surpassing strong contenders such as Tale of the Land, Kabut Berduri, Samsara, Siksa Kubur, and Crocodile Tears. The film tells the powerful story of a young nun in East Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara, who confronts the harsh reality of child exploitation. Its compelling narrative and outstanding cinematic execution earned widespread acclaim from critics and the jury.
Director Razka Robby Ertanto expressed his deep gratitude, reflecting on the film’s journey since 2022. Before its domestic success, Yohanna was showcased at international film festivals, including the International Film Festival Rotterdam and Jakarta Film Week 2024. At the 19th Jogja-Netpac Asian Film Festival (JAFF), it secured five awards, including Best Film and Best Director.
Laura Basuki Wins Tempo’s Actress of Choice 2025
Laura Basuki, the lead actress of Yohanna, was honored with the Actress of Choice award for her portrayal of a young nun grappling with moral and faith dilemmas amid social unrest in East Sumba. Her deeply emotional and nuanced performance was met with high praise from critics and audiences alike.
