Archipelago International, the largest hotel management company in Southeast Asia, is making waves in the culinary world with its exciting new Food & Beverage Program, the Black Box Battle. This innovative program invites esteemed F&B leaders, executive chefs, and head chefs to showcase their culinary expertise by preparing food and drinks using surprise ingredients. The Black Box Battle will be a series of competitions held across various regions, including JABODETABEK, JOGLO SEMAR, West Java, East Java, and Bali.
The program is divided into two thrilling categories: Food Battle and Beverage Battle. Contestants from each category will be able to compete for the prestigious top three trophies, while all participants will receive an apron and certificate as a token of appreciation.
The inaugural event of the Black Box Battle is scheduled to take place on May 27, 2023, at Harper MT Haryono in Cawang, Jakarta. F&B leaders, executive chefs, and head chefs from all regions are eagerly invited to participate and showcase their talent in this captivating culinary extravaganza.
The Black Box Battle aims to celebrate the diverse culinary and beverage culture of Indonesia while emphasizing the abundance of local ingredients available. The winners of the Food Battle category were Chef Sukma Nuryadinata from GRAND ASTON Puncak Hotel & Resort, who claimed the Charles Brookfield Trophy (1st place); Chef Agung Palupi from ASTON Sentul Resort & Convention Center, winner of the John Flood Trophy (2nd Place); and Chef Hadhi Septanto from Harper MT Haryono, Cawang, who received the favorite winner's prize (3rd Place).
In the Beverage Battle category, the winners were Boby Sandra from GRAND ASTON Puncak Hotel & Resort, who secured the Charles Brookfield Trophy (1st Place); Wahyu Sudrajad from ASTON Pluit Hotel & Residence, winner of the John Flood Trophy (2nd Place); and Rinaldo Chendana Halim from ASTON Cilegon Boutique Hotel, who claimed the favorite winner's prize (3rd Place).
All winners also received prizes from Heavenly Blush and PT. Esham Dima Mandiri, further adding to their recognition and appreciation for their outstanding skills.
The event has garnered support from various organizations, including Gusto, Fitrafood, Toza, Leafy, and PT. LMK, Heavenly Blush, Calmic, Larder, and Soejasch Bali, further solidify the importance and significance of the Black Box Battle in the culinary landscape of Indonesia.
