FROM KRAKóW TO JAKARTA: CLASSICAL MUSIC THAT RESONATES AND UNITES TWO NATIONS
A mesmerizing night where melodies intertwined two cultures, turning harmony into a timeless celebration of unity and art
A warm atmosphere filled Shoemaker Studios on the evening of October 7, 2025, as the harmony of violin and accordion blended beautifully in the air, creating a captivating cultural fusion between Poland and Indonesia. The concert, titled “The Story of Polish Music – Classical Concert,” turned classical melodies into a bridge of diplomacy, celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union, the event was more than a musical performance—it was a celebration of art, friendship, and cultural understanding expressed through the universal language of music.
The spotlight of the evening was on the acclaimed Polish duo Karolina Mikołajczyk (violin) and Iwo Jedynecki (accordion), whose mesmerizing performance captivated the audience. Their repertoire flowed effortlessly from emotional Polish folk tunes to reinterpreted classical pieces infused with a modern touch. Joining them on stage was Indonesian cellist Bryant Gozali, whose heartfelt performance added a warm local character to the evening. This international collaboration embodied the true essence of the event—connection, creativity, and harmony through togetherness.
Before the concert began, guests were welcomed into a delightful atmosphere. The lobby of Shoemaker Studios was transformed into a little corner of Poland, featuring traditional pastries such as chruściki (angel wings), pączki (Polish doughnuts), and szarlotka (apple crumble cake). Each delicacy represented the richness of Polish culinary tradition, serving as a sweet symbol of cultural diplomacy and hospitality.
During the welcoming speeches, representatives from the Polish Embassy and the EU Delegation highlighted that music is more than entertainment—it is a bridge that strengthens relationships between nations. Every stroke of Karolina’s violin and every note from Iwo’s accordion reflected that cultural diversity is not a barrier to unity but an opportunity for mutual appreciation.
The concert was not only a tribute to Polish music but also a reminder of art’s universal power to connect people. Each melody carried the emotions and history of Poland, yet when performed in Jakarta, it evolved into a new story—a dialogue without words between two cultures built on mutual respect and admiration.
As part of Poland Festival 2025, this concert became one of the event’s highlights, reaffirming the strong creative, educational, and cultural ties between Poland and Indonesia. As the evening concluded with a round of applause, one message was clear: diplomacy does not always speak through words—it also resonates through music, flavors, and friendship.
