BALI ARTS FESTIVAL 2025 TO CELEBRATE UNIVERSAL HARMONY WITH HUNDREDS OF CULTURAL PERFORMANCES

It is a grand cultural showcase set to captivate the world stage with a powerful message

The 47th Bali Arts Festival (PKB) is set to light up the Island of the Gods from June 21 to July 19, 2025. Held during the school holiday season, this highly anticipated annual event welcomes both locals and tourists to experience the vibrant beauty of Balinese culture.

This year’s theme, Jagat Kerthi: Loka Hita Samadaya or Universal Harmony, draws from the final principle of Sad Kerthi, emphasizing the importance of maintaining balance and harmony in both the universe (buana agung) and the self (buana alit) to create a peaceful and prosperous life.

The festival will begin with peed aya, a traditional cultural parade in front of the Bajra Sandhi Monument in Denpasar. Unlike previous years, this parade will feature participation from traditional villages across all regencies and cities in Bali, offering a more inclusive and diverse celebration.

More than 20,000 artists from Bali and other regions are expected to take part in PKB 2025, presenting hundreds of cultural performances ranging from parades and dance shows to competitions and exhibitions. Beyond local talent, the festival also welcomes international performers through the Bali World Culture Celebration (BWCC), held throughout the same period.

BWCC provides a platform for artists from around the world to share universal values such as unity, harmony, and peace through various performance styles. This global celebration further solidifies Bali’s important role in international cultural exchange and diplomacy.

First held in 1979, the Bali Arts Festival has grown into a vital platform for cultural preservation, artistic innovation, and creative expression. Organized by the Provincial Government of Bali, the event features a wide array of activities including parades, performances, contests, workshops, exhibitions, forums, and awards honoring dedicated artists.

To maintain the festival’s high standards, the Bali Provincial Department of Culture carefully curates participating art groups (sekaa), studios, communities, and foundations. With its diverse and meaningful programs, PKB 2025 is set to be a powerful expression of Bali’s cultural spirit and a celebration of harmony in today’s interconnected world.
