ART JAKARTA GARDENS RETURNS TO HUTAN KOTA BY PLATARAN

Discover the Fusion of Beauty and Innovation at Art Jakarta Gardens Open-Air Art Fair in Jakarta from 7th to 12th February 2023.

Art Jakarta Gardens, the innovative open-air art fair, returns to Hutan Kota by Plataran in Jakarta from 7-12 February 2023. The first edition of Art Jakarta Gardens was a fresh concept that received positive responses from artists, collectors, and other stakeholders of the art ecosystem.

This year's event will be officially opened by Hilmar Farid, the Director General of Culture at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. According to Farid, "Art Jakarta Gardens reflects important lessons from the pandemic and highlights the relationship between art and nature. It also shows the attention of our art scene to preserving natural resources, which requires creativity and new breakthroughs. Hopefully, this art fair will inspire all of us to explore the artistic inspiration for a more sustainable life."

Tom Tandio, the Fair Director, expressed his gratitude for the heartwarming support for Art Jakarta Gardens. "It is an honor to receive such support and start our own journey apart from the annual flagship Art Jakarta. Working with galleries and artists to present their best is always an exciting collaboration and we hope it leads to more attention to art presentation in public spaces."

Artistic Director Enin Supriyanto added, "Last year's Art Jakarta Gardens received positive responses from art galleries, artists, collectors, and visitors. An outdoor art event in a garden environment provides a different atmosphere and truly highlights the strengths of the works. We hope Art Jakarta Gardens can become an inspiration for more artworks to appear in Jakarta's public spaces."

Lead partners, Credit Suisse and Bibit, support Art Jakarta Gardens this year. Heinz Puth, Market Group Head of Credit Suisse, said, "As a strong advocate for the arts, Credit Suisse is proud to partner with Art Jakarta Gardens to support emerging and established artists and reinvigorate the local arts scene. By collaborating with Art Jakarta Gardens, we aim to bring the artworks of talented Indonesian artists to inspire a wider audience."

Olivia Budiono, Product Marketing Lead of Bibit, said, "Bibit is committed to empowering individuals to pursue their financial goals and this year, together with Art Jakarta Gardens, we're excited to show how art can empower everyone to achieve these goals."

The second edition of Art Jakarta Gardens is a continuation of the success of the first event at Hutan Kota by Plataran. Yozua Makes, the CEO and founder of Plataran, said, "I appreciate the presence of Art Jakarta Gardens at Hutan Kota for the second time. With its open area and forest theme, this venue is perfect for a collaboration with Art Jakarta Gardens, which carries a fresh and innovative concept. I thank the artists for revitalizing art in Indonesia and hope this will continue for years to come."

VIP guests can visit Art Jakarta Gardens on the first day, while general visitors can visit the fair starting on Wednesday, 8 February 2023. Throughout the event, visitors can explore a combination of outdoor and indoor art presentations in the form of sculptures, installations, and two-dimensional objects. The Sculpture Garden section will feature outdoor sculptures by Adi Gunawan, Ashley Bickerton, Nyoman Nuarta, Richard Winkler, Sinta Tantra, and Yim Yen Sum, with plinths provided by TACO that can withstand all types of weather. The indoor exhibition area will consist of two bespoke tents with artworks by various artists.
