SPACE, SENSATION, AND EVERYDAY RHYTHM AT FRITZ HANSEN PLACE JAKARTA

A refined space where design, sound, and culture intertwine, inviting visitors to pause, feel, and connect through a thoughtfully curated sensory journey

Founded in Denmark in 1872, Fritz Hansen has long been recognized as a key contributor to the development of modern design. Built on a philosophy that brings together quality, functionality, and aesthetic value, the brand has remained relevant across generations. Its presence in Indonesia, particularly in Jakarta, represents an engaging dialogue between Scandinavian design principles and the richness of local culture.

This dialogue enters a new phase with the reopening of Fritz Hansen Place Jakarta in a fully refreshed form. Located at Jalan Senopati No. 45, the space has evolved beyond a traditional furniture showroom into a multidimensional destination. Designed by interior designer Yuni Jie, the renewed interior combines clean, minimalist Danish aesthetics with warm Indonesian influences, creating an environment that feels intimate, layered, and immersive.

A central highlight of the space is the Audio Archive, a dedicated listening room equipped with a Dynaudio sound system. Visitors are invited to explore a carefully curated selection of limited edition vinyl records, classical CDs, and private listening areas. Designed as a retreat from the pace of the city, the Audio Archive encourages visitors to pause, listen, and experience the subtle connection between sound, space, and design.

Complementing this experience is the Fritz Hansen Café, which adds a welcoming social layer to the space. Offering fresh from the oven pastries, specialty coffee, and premium teas, the café reflects a calm Scandinavian atmosphere centered on comfort and warmth. It is a place to sit, slow down, and enjoy simple rituals within a thoughtfully designed setting.

Local character is thoughtfully woven into the space through Yuni Jie’s design approach, including the limited edition SUMBA Lounge Chair inspired by traditional Sumba woven textiles and upholstered in Kvadrat fabric. The use of handcrafted textile elements and warm color accents, such as soft shades of orange, gently contrasts with the restrained Nordic palette. This balance creates a space that feels grounded and refined, contemporary yet approachable.

More than a place to view furniture, Fritz Hansen Place Jakarta is envisioned as a living experience. It invites visitors to move at a slower pace, engage with details, and sense how design can blend naturally into everyday life. Within this setting, aesthetics, culture, and emotion come together, offering a more human and meaningful rhythm of living.
