Celebrating love and cultural diversity through art that bridges tradition and modernity

To celebrate the 2025 Lunar New Year, Gallery Lane Cove, in collaboration with Vermilion Art, presents an art exhibition titled In the Mood for Love. This exhibition runs from January 22 to February 8, 2025, at Gallery Lane Cove, 164 Longueville Rd, Lane Cove. Curated by Abigail Kim and Dr. Yeqin Zuo, the exhibition showcases works from eleven talented artists, both established and emerging.  

The exhibition embraces the theme of love and togetherness, inviting visitors to reflect on the spirit of unity within cultural diversity. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, In the Mood for Love explores the relationship between tradition and contemporary creativity. Each piece reflects the dynamic interplay between cultural values passed down through generations and fresh, modern interpretations. The exhibition serves as a dialogue to understand how traditional elements can inspire innovation in contemporary art.

The participating artists include Guan Wei, Guo Jian, Geng Xue, Chen Wenling, Yang Xifa, Lin Chunyan, Zhang Xiao, Wang Yunyun, Laurens Tan, Charlie Sheard, and Claudia Chan Shaw. Through diverse artistic approaches, they present personal and collective narratives that reflect the essence of Lunar New Year celebrations across various dimensions.  

As part of the celebration, In the Mood for Love not only highlights the vibrant colors of Lunar New Year festivities but also conveys the importance of understanding and respecting cultural diversity.
