SWARA PRAMBANAN 2025: A YEAR-END FESTIVAL OF TWILIGHT, MUSIC, AND CULTURE
A magical night where music, stories, and shared moments unfolded beneath the ancient Prambanan sky, turning twilight unforgettable
Swara Prambanan 2025 returned as a memorable year-end celebration. This music and cultural festival took place on 31 December 2025 at Taman Wisata Candi Prambanan, Yogyakarta Special Region, bringing visitors together under the Prambanan sky to welcome the new year with warmth and togetherness. Carrying the theme “Festival Menikmati Akhir Senja,” the event offered a distinctive twilight atmosphere that made the experience feel both intimate and unforgettable.
In recent years, Swara Prambanan has grown into a vibrant meeting point for music across genres, cultural diversity, and creative expression. The 2023 and 2024 editions featured well-known performers such as Sheila On 7, Raisa, Vina Panduwinata, and JKT48. Continuing its tradition, this year’s festival once again presented a lineup of selected musicians prepared to bring harmony and meaning to the final night of the year.
The 2025 edition featured Bilal Indrajaya, Denny Caknan, Mr. Jono & Joni, For Revenge, and the collaboration of Tenxi x Naykilla. The performers offered a wide range of musical styles, from romantic pop and alternative rock to contemporary Javanese influences. Their works and stage presence were expected to deliver emotional messages that resonate across generations, making the celebration even more memorable.
Beyond the musical experience, Swara Prambanan 2025 also highlighted cultural arts performances that reflected the richness of Yogyakarta’s identity. The stage came alive with traditional presentations such as Tari Legenda Roro Jonggrang, Cendhik Art Dance, Pendopo Swara x Narestari, Balai Swara, Wayang Suket Indonesia, Talkimakite, and Komunitas Swara. These performances created a cultural narrative that blended seamlessly with the historic ambience of Prambanan Temple.
Festival visitors could also take part in a variety of arts and cultural workshops. Activities included batik-making, painting wayang and kites, preparing traditional beverages, and crafting ceramics. The Sinema Rakyat program added to the creative atmosphere through screenings of short films presented in the Javanese language, offering another layer of artistic exploration.
Pasar Medang enriched the festival with traditional culinary offerings from Yogyakarta and across the archipelago. Local MSME products were showcased throughout the area, giving visitors the chance to enjoy authentic flavors and craftsmanship while supporting small businesses. Traditional games, creative spaces, and a children’s music stage brought additional entertainment for families.
The festival was planned to close with a New Year’s Eve fireworks display, marking a symbolic moment of shared hope and new beginnings. With its mix of music, culture, cuisine, art, and creative interaction, Swara Prambanan 2025 created a space for stories and memories that linger at the year’s end.
Through its diverse programs and community spirit, Swara Prambanan reaffirmed its role as a warm, inclusive, and meaningful celebration of music and culture—a place where twilight, sound, and emotion come together in harmony to welcome a new year.
