REACHING EXTREME OCEAN DEPTHS KIRANA LARASATI SETS A NEW 127 METER DIVING RECORD
A remarkable underwater milestone that reflects courage, discipline, and exceptional determination
Indonesian actress and professional diver Kirana Larasati has once again achieved a remarkable milestone in the world of diving. She officially recorded her name in the Museum Rekor Indonesia after successfully diving to a depth of 127 meters in the waters of Tulamben, Bali.
This achievement makes Kirana the first Indonesian woman to reach a depth of more than 120 meters in the technical diving category according to MURI. The accomplishment also surpasses her previous personal record of 120 meters.
The historic moment was shared by Kirana through a post on her personal Instagram account on March 1, 2026. In the post, she is seen wearing full diving gear underwater while carrying the Indonesian red and white flag. The image is not only a documentation of the dive but also a symbol of pride and dedication to Indonesia.
Diving at extreme depths is not an activity that can be done casually. Each additional meter underwater brings greater water pressure and higher risk. For this reason, technical diving requires advanced technical skills, including gas management, decompression planning, the use of specialized equipment, and strict adherence to safety standards. Precision and discipline are essential to ensure that every dive is carried out safely.
For Kirana, this achievement is the result of a long journey that did not happen overnight. The 38 year old diver has spent years training to strengthen her physical condition while building strong mental resilience. She has also continued to deepen her technical knowledge of diving and follow international safety standards. Through consistent training and careful preparation, Kirana finally succeeded in reaching a depth of 127 meters.
The accomplishment feels even more special because it was achieved in the waters of Bali, a region widely known for its extraordinary underwater richness. From colorful coral reefs to challenging deep sea topography, the area has long been a favorite destination for divers from around the world. By setting this record in Indonesian waters, Kirana also highlights the world class potential of the country’s seas for diving activities.
This achievement also opens a wider conversation about the role of female athletes in extreme sports. Kirana’s success shows that with dedication, discipline, and support from family, professional teams, and the diving community, Indonesian women are capable of achieving significant accomplishments.
More than simply breaking a personal record, Kirana Larasati’s journey reflects consistency in pursuing passion. In the quiet yet demanding depths of the ocean, she proves that perseverance and careful preparation can help someone push beyond limits that once seemed difficult to reach.
