On July 30, 2024, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Jakarta hosted a vibrant dinner at the official residence of the Moroccan Ambassador in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. This special event marked the 25th anniversary of King Mohammed VI's reign, a period of significant progress for the North African nation.

In her speech, Ouadia Benabdellah, the Moroccan Ambassador to Indonesia and Singapore, highlighted the critical achievements of King Mohammed VI's 25-year leadership. She praised the king for his role in fostering political stability, national unity, and substantial economic and industrial advancements, while also enhancing Morocco’s relationship with Indonesia.

King Mohammed VI ascended the throne on July 30, 1999, succeeding his father, King Hassan II, who passed away on the same day. Throughout his reign, King Mohammed VI has enacted key reforms, including a new constitution and family law. His efforts to broaden social security and healthcare coverage for all citizens have been landmark initiatives demonstrating his commitment to the well-being of his people.

Representing the Indonesian government, Sugeng Hariyono, Head of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) at the Ministry of Home Affairs, congratulated King Mohammed VI on his 25 years of leadership. Sugeng highlighted the enduring and beneficial relationship between Indonesia and Morocco, noting the positive impact this bilateral relationship has had in political, economic, and social realms.

Sugeng expressed hope for continued and strengthened cooperation between the two countries. He anticipated that this partnership would positively impact their societies and open new opportunities for collaboration across various sectors. This celebration underscored the strong ties between Indonesia and Morocco, demonstrating how geographical distances can be bridged through collaboration and constructive dialogue.

The Jakarta celebration was attended by Indonesian officials and ambassadors from various friendly nations, including Zuhair Al-Shun, the Ambassador of Palestine, and Vasyl Hamianin, the Ambassador of Ukraine. The event was warm and inclusive, with hundreds of guests gathering to honor King Mohammed VI's achievements. Also present were Sheikh Mohamed Ahmed Salim Al Shanfari, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman; Dr. Abdulla Salem Obaid Salem AlDhaheri, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates; and Dr. Georges Abou Zeid, the representative of the Lebanese Embassy.

The celebration concluded with a ceremonial cutting of a birthday cake by the Moroccan Ambassador and distinguished guests. This moment symbolized unity and appreciation for the king’s achievements. Guests enjoyed traditional Moroccan cuisine, including Couscous, Pastilla, and various types of bread, alongside special Moroccan Tea, enhancing the warm atmosphere of the evening.
