A dynamic cultural festival that strengthens bonds and showcases vibrant traditions

Gelar Melayu Serumpun 2025 is now in full swing at Istana Maimoon, Medan, running from May 21 through May 24, 2025. Now in its eighth edition, the event once again embraces the theme "Weaving Hope, Becoming Brothers" as a means of preserving and strengthening Malay arts and culture, which represent an important part of the nation’s cultural heritage.

Designated as a Karisma Event Nusantara 2025 by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism, this event features a total of 29 delegations from both domestic and international regions. Twenty delegations come from various areas across Indonesia, including Sabang, Langsa, Batam, Jakarta, and Bandung. Meanwhile, nine delegations represent neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and India. The presence of these participants makes Gelar Melayu Serumpun a valuable platform for fostering friendship and cultural exchange among Malay communities across the region.

Over the course of five days, the stage at Istana Maimoon is filled with captivating artistic and cultural performances.
