INDONESIA SWEEPS ASIA ROAD RACING 2026 UB150 IN THAILAND

Fadli Rigani won Race 1 and Alfi Husni took Race 2 at Asia Road Racing 2026 Round 2 in Buriram. Indonesia dominates the UB150 standings at Chang Circuit.

Chang International Circuit in Buriram delivered one of the most complete weekends Indonesian motorcycle racing has produced at Asian level. Over two days at Asia Road Racing 2026 Round 2 in Thailand, three Indonesian riders stood on the podium of Race 1, and one of them came back on Sunday to win Race 2.

The Asia Road Racing Championship is managed by FIM Asia and is the premier motorcycle road racing series at continental level. The UB150 class, or Underbone 150cc, is the most popular and competitive category in the series, using mass-production commuter motorcycles including the Yamaha MX-King, Honda Supra GTR, and a newcomer from China, the Voge Formica Rossa.

Held at Chang International Circuit, this Asia Road Racing 2026 race weekend delivered one of the most complete performances Indonesian motorcycle racing has achieved at the Asian level

Fadli Rigani won Race 1 and Alfi Husni took Race 2 at Asia Road Racing 2026 Round 2 in Buriram. Indonesia dominates the UB150 standings after a dramatic weekend at Chang Circuit.

The race weekend format runs across three days. Friday is reserved for free practice. Saturday holds Superpole qualifying and Race 1. Sunday runs Race 2. The grid for Race 1 is determined entirely by Superpole, where riders are released one at a time with no slipstreaming permitted, making it a pure individual time trial. The Race 2 grid is set by the Race 1 results.

Race 1: The Move That Decided Everything

Fadli Rigani of Yamaha LFN HP969 Indonesia Racing Team took victory in Race 1 after completing 8 laps in 16 minutes 40.642 seconds. Wahyu Aji Trilaksana finished second with a gap of only 0.137 seconds, and Alfi Husni secured third place to complete an all-Indonesian podium.

The defining moment came at the final corner. Fadli executed a brave manoeuvre from the outside line using a precise sliding technique to seize first position ahead of the finish line. In a race separated by tenths, that one move converted a chase into a victory.

Three positions. Three Indonesian riders. Three different teams. The Merah Putih occupied every step of the podium without leaving room for anyone else.

Before Race 1, it was Alfi Husni who had set the pace. Alfi took pole position in Superpole qualifying, demonstrating the power of the Yamaha MX-King through his individual time trial lap at Chang Circuit. Starting from pole, finishing third still represented consistency under pressure.

Race 2: Alfi Husni Takes It at the Line

Sunday belonged to a different Indonesian.

Alfi Husni won Race 2 in a dramatic finish, crossing the line just metres ahead of his rivals after executing perfectly timed strategy throughout the race. The victory came through a duel that went to the final metres of the final lap.

Alfi Husni wins Race 2. Pole on Saturday, third in Race 1, first on Sunday. The weekend belonged to him in more ways than the results show.

Ahmad Darwisy Ahmad Sahir of Malaysia finished second in Race 2, breaking Indonesia's clean sweep from the day before. Two flags on the podium where there had been one the previous afternoon.

Standings After Round 2: Indonesia in Control

After two rounds, Alfi Husni leads the UB150 championship standings with 82 points. Gupita Kresna sits second with 44 points, Dimas Juli Atmoko third with 43 points, and Adytya Fauzi fourth with 42 points. Four of the top four in the standings are Indonesian.

The 2026 UB150 season is a three-way battle between Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, with three manufacturers competing: Yamaha, Honda, and Voge from China. The standings after Buriram suggest one country has already found a comfortable distance from the rest.

The next round of Asia Road Racing  2026 takes place at Motegi, Japan. The Indonesian riders who just swept a weekend in Thailand will arrive there with a points lead that was not built by accident.
