Honoring the richness of French culture and the commitment of both countries to innovation through collaboration in various fields

In celebration of French National Day, the French Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and ASEAN, Mr. Fabien Penone, hosted a reception at the Raffles Hotel's Jakarta Ballroom on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The event brought together various prominent figures, including the Minister of National Development Planning, Suharso Monoarfa, and officials from the French community abroad.

During his speech, Minister Suharso Monoarfa highlighted the importance of the diplomatic relations established between Indonesia and France, which have flourished for five years since Indonesia's independence. He noted that cooperation between the two countries spans various fields, including defense and security, maritime affairs, energy, trade and investment, economic development, sustainable city development, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

The Minister also expressed appreciation for France's commitment to the green transition, particularly through regenerative agricultural practices. He explained that this approach benefits the soil by using minimal tillage methods and planting cover crops.

This year’s celebration of French National Day embraced the theme of the #Paris2024 Olympics, featuring key figures in bilateral relations, including politicians, educators, researchers, artists, academics, business leaders, high-ranking officials, and members of the diplomatic corps.
