A vibrant stage where global creativity converges, celebrating the dynamism and diversity of artistic expression

Jakarta is once again set to take center stage in the art world with Art Jakarta 2025, the largest contemporary art fair in Indonesia. The event will run from October 3 to 5, 2025 at JIExpo Kemayoran. As one of the most anticipated annual art events, this edition will feature 75 leading galleries from 16 countries, further strengthening Indonesia’s position in the Southeast Asian art landscape.

According to Artistic Director Enin Supriyanto, the participation of prestigious international galleries underscores the fair’s growing global presence. Notable names include Esther Schipper, a prominent European gallery from Berlin with additional spaces in Paris, New York, and Seoul; Kaikai Kiki, founded by renowned artist Takashi Murakami; and Tina Keng Gallery, recognized for its dedication to presenting Taiwanese and Chinese artists on the world stage.

Key partners are also playing a major role in enriching the fair. Julius Baer will host a VIP Lounge featuring works by Eddie Hara, including the Postcards from the Alps series and the new piece CALL 911. DESTROY BAD ART. Bibit will present Agus Suwage’s Self Portrait and the Theater Stage accompanied by an interactive program, while Treasury will showcase the installation Reserve of Care, created in collaboration with Azizi Almajid and Nuri Fatimah. BCA will also join with Muklay to present a unique installation at the myBCA booth.

Other partners are adding to the overall visitor experience. SUPERMUSIC will bring the spirit of Indonesia’s music community, iForte Energy will collaborate with Ricky Janitra on the installation Lumiphona.Dat, and TACO will work with Jessica Soekidi to explore color and light. CASA, under Design Indonesia, will curate the VIP Lounge, while Oasis, % Arabica, and Artotel Group will enhance the exhibition atmosphere.

Art Jakarta’s signature programs remain among the main highlights. The SPOT section will showcase large-scale installations by Indonesian artists including Ardi Gunawan, Ipeh Nur, Endry Pragusta, Aditya Novali, and Adi Gunawan. The SCENE section will feature 31 art collectives from across the country, celebrating the diversity of artistic practices beyond Jakarta.

The AJX section will focus on cross-institutional collaborations, including Korea Focus with 12 Korean galleries, as well as the National Talent Management exhibition titled New Currents, curated by Agung Hujatnika. In addition, Natta-Cita Art Space from ISI Bali will introduce Balinese contemporary art to the international stage.

Art Jakarta 2025 will also mark the introduction of Art Jakarta Papers 2026, a new exhibition dedicated to paper as a medium in contemporary art. This program will highlight a wide range of creative approaches, from drawings and prints to paper-based installations.

With its extensive programming, Art Jakarta 2025 is more than an art marketplace. It serves as a gathering point for artists, galleries, collectors, and the wider art community, reaffirming its role as the heartbeat of Southeast Asian contemporary art and a vital platform for the development of Indonesia’s art market.
