AHARIMU PRESENTS SOLO EXHIBITION AT RUCI ART SPACE, EXPLORING THE HUMAN FORM IN FIGURE A

Blending vibrant colors, unique textures, and experimental techniques that transform our perception of the body in art

Aharimu, a young artist with an experimental approach, is currently presenting her debut solo exhibition titled Figure A. This exhibition offers a deep exploration of the human form, delving into elements of texture, composition, and color, going beyond mere representation of the subject in figurative art.

The Figure A exhibition, which is currently taking place at RUCI Art Space, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, showcases a series of stunning works featuring a vibrant color palette inspired by Impressionism. Aharimu explores the interaction of colors in a unique way, creating a dynamic and lively visual sensation. Each piece reflects the power of color in expressing strong emotions and depth through contrasts and texture play.

The works in this exhibition also reflect a variety of influences that enrich their visual aesthetics, ranging from popular culture such as manga and contemporary animation to the surreal and expressive aesthetics of Balinese modernist art, Made Wianta. Aharimu successfully blends these diverse influences in an innovative way, producing works that are full of nuance and appeal, touching on various cultural and artistic dimensions.

One aspect that distinguishes Aharimu’s work is her experimental approach to painting techniques. Her oil paintings employ unconventional techniques such as direct application of paint from tubes or the use of spatulas to apply thick layers of paint. This approach demonstrates Aharimu’s courage to break free from the conventional academic techniques she previously studied, creating works that are not only visually captivating but also offer an intimate, tactile quality that can be felt by the viewer.

In Figure A, Aharimu presents the human body not just as a static subject, but as a vessel for transformation and unlimited potential. The works depict the body not only as a physical representation but also as a medium for exploring deeper emotional layers and philosophical concepts. Each piece invites visitors to reconsider the role of the body in art and life, and how the body can become a symbol of limitless possibilities.

Curated by Zarani Risjad, the Figure A exhibition presents 25 works divided across various media such as paintings, drawings, and sculptures. Each piece invites viewers to experience the depth of expression and creativity that goes beyond the conventional boundaries of figurative art.

This exhibition can be enjoyed at RUCI Art Space, Jakarta, and will run until January 20, 2025. Don’t miss the opportunity to appreciate works that offer a rich visual and emotional experience, as well as to witness how Aharimu brings the human form into a dimension full of exploration and imagination.
