THE ST. REGIS CHICAGO OPENS ITS DOORS, SHOWCASING AVANT-GARDE DESIGN AND BESPOKE SERVICE
St. Regis Hotels & Resorts debuts its first property in the American Midwest in downtown Chicago.
St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, a prestigious brand within Marriott Bonvoy's portfolio of extraordinary hotels, has announced the highly anticipated opening of The St. Regis Chicago. Designed by Jeanne Gang's renowned architecture and urban design practice, Studio Gang, this 101-story tower is the tallest building in the world designed by a female architect. Situated in downtown Chicago's Lakeshore East neighborhood, the hotel offers guests and local luminaries a fresh perspective on sophisticated dining, personalized service, and avant-garde design.
“The debut of The St. Regis Chicago signals a significant milestone for the St. Regis brand as we grow our footprint in the United States and celebrate our first property in the American Midwest,” said George Fleck, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. “We are proud to open our doors in Chicago, an energetic and dynamic city that, like the St. Regis brand, is known for its rich history and pioneering design. Through The St. Regis Chicago we will debut a new icon within the city, sharing with our guests and local luminaries an architectural masterpiece that also represents the pinnacle of luxury hospitality today.”
Nestled in the picturesque Lakeshore East neighborhood, The St. Regis Chicago offers easy access to the Chicago River and is a short walk from the city's premier luxury retailers, dining destinations, and cultural landmarks such as Millennium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the famous Magnificent Mile. The hotel's unique design, conceived by Studio Gang, features an interconnected series of stacked, frustum-shaped elements that move rhythmically in and out of plane, creating a striking visual effect. Inspired by nature, the tower's crystalline form reflects the colors of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River, with a shimmering gradient of green-blue glass.
KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group has led the interior design for various public-facing areas of the hotel, including the Presidential Suite and The St. Regis Spa, drawing inspiration from Chicago's architectural heritage. Metallic materials and colors like copper and rust are interwoven with geometric lines, paying homage to The Great Chicago Fire and the city's interconnected waterways, buildings, and green spaces.
The St. Regis Chicago features 159 luxurious guestrooms and 33 exquisite suites spread across 11 floors. Designed by Gensler, the guestrooms offer a tranquil and rejuvenating space. A carefully curated palette of natural stone and wood finishes creates a connection to nature, contrasting with the urban backdrop of skyline views. Guests will enjoy the signature St. Regis Butler Service, a hallmark of the brand for over a century, ensuring personalized offerings such as garment pressing and packing services.
Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, a Chicago-based restaurant group, will debut two dining experiences at The St. Regis Chicago. Miru, an all-day dining venue on the 11th floor, helmed by Chef Hisanobu Osaka, offers a menu highlighting Japanese small plates, sushi, sashimi, as well as a selection of steak and seafood. Miru, meaning "view" in Japanese, celebrates its lakeside location with a design grounded in Chicago Modernism, offering indoor and outdoor seating, private dining spaces, and terraces with breathtaking views of Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, and the Chicago River. The Coffee Bar on Eleven serves a selection of grab-and-go breakfast items and handmade pastries. Additionally, award-winning Chef Evan Funke will debut Tre Dita, a Tuscan steakhouse, in fall 2023. The restaurant will feature fresh, handmade pasta and classic Italian steaks, with its design by David Collins Studio.
Guests can partake in three signature St. Regis brand rituals at various food and beverage spaces, including Afternoon Tea, evening Champagne Sabrage, and the hotel's unique Chicago-inspired twist on the brand's signature libation, the Bloody Mary. The 1871, created by Beverage Director Diane Corcoran, pays tribute to The Great Chicago Fire and features a local Rye Whiskey from FEW Spirits with a rim of smoked salt.
Spanning 12,000 square feet on the Wellness Floor, The St. Regis Spa provides a serene urban oasis for guests. The spa offers a range of sensory experiences, including a champagne bar, the Iridium Lounge, and rejuvenating treatments. The St. Regis Spa Suite caters to VIPs, couples, families, and friends, offering a bespoke gathering space. The fitness center, overlooking the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, boasts state-of-the-art equipment, an outdoor sundeck, a yoga studio, and two private fitness rooms. The hotel also features a grand indoor pool with stunning city and lake views.
With over 1,000 square feet of premier event spaces, The St. Regis Chicago is an ideal venue for cherished celebrations, gatherings, and meetings. The coveted 4,721 square-foot Astor Ballroom can accommodate up to 500 guests for receptions, while the third-floor Executive Function Spaces offer four executive meeting rooms and pre-function space spanning over 3,000 square feet. Oliver Gibbons, General Manager of The St. Regis Chicago, expressed excitement about offering guests exceptional experiences that celebrate the city's rich history within the iconic St. Regis setting. He also emphasized the hotel's commitment to excellence across all sectors of hospitality.
Adjacent to the hotel is the Residences at The St. Regis Chicago, which comprises 393 condominiums. Residents have access to all of the hotel's amenities, in addition to their own resident-only amenity floor, providing the ultimate luxury living experience.
