POLAND INDONESIA FRIENDSHIP WALK 2024: BUILDING BRIDGES OF CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC COLLABORATION

A shared step of friendship, strengthening cultural ties, and opening opportunities for collaboration

The Poland Indonesia Friendship Walk Car Free Day, organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), took place at Bundaran HI Jakarta on November 17, 2024. This event became a key platform to celebrate Poland's culture, business, and innovation in Indonesia, while enhancing the bilateral relationship between the two countries. As the largest cultural and trade festival hosted by Poland in ASEAN, it featured a variety of dynamic programs in sectors such as FMCG, technology, education, and industry.

In its five-year journey, the Poland Festival has attracted more than 500,000 participants, making it one of Poland’s largest initiatives in Indonesia. The festival not only attracts interest from various sectors, from government to the general public, but also aims to strengthen partnerships and understanding between the two nations.

The Friendship Walk event itself was attended by several important figures, such as Enggar Ferry (Head of the Foreign Cooperation Division), Cezary Filipek (Manager of PAIH), Jacek Kolomyjec (Director of PAIH), and Maciej Tumulec (Charge d'Affaires, Embassy of Poland). On this occasion, they emphasized the importance of the event as a symbol of solidarity and long-term commitment between Poland and Indonesia.

Jacek Kolomyjec, Head of PAIH in Jakarta, in his opening speech, highlighted that the event serves as an effective means to strengthen bilateral relations. “This festival reflects the strong commitment between Poland and Indonesia in enhancing cultural and economic ties,” he said. Kolomyjec added that the event provides a platform that allows both countries to grow and understand each other on a deeper level.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador of Poland to Indonesia, Mattia Mulec, added that the Friendship Walk is a symbol of closeness and solidarity between Poland and Indonesia. “Building friendship is very important. Poland is ready to collaborate on various initiatives that bring benefits to both countries, especially as we prepare for the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations and take over the presidency of the European Union in 2025,” he stated.

Cezary Filipek, Manager of PAIH Jakarta, also emphasized that this event is not just about promoting Poland, but more about strong cultural and economic collaboration. “In Poland, we believe that to build business, we must first build friendships. That’s the essence of the Friendship Walk and the Poland Festival,” he said.

This festival, which aims to build meaningful relationships with Indonesia, demonstrates that the closeness between the two countries is crucial, especially in the context of their increasingly strong diplomatic and economic ties.

With the success of this event, Poland and Indonesia continue to solidify their commitment to building a stronger partnership, bringing positive impacts to both countries in the future.
