Hardi's Artistic Legacy and Spirit of Defiance Showcased in a Captivating Exhibition

The Ministry of Culture, through the National Gallery of Indonesia, proudly presents an art exhibition titled "The Legacy of Resistance: The President of 2001 - A Tribute to Hardi (1951–2023)." This exhibition honors the significant contributions of the late Raden Soehardi Adimaryono, better known as Hardi. Officially opened on January 9, 2025, by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadlizon, the exhibition runs until January 26, 2025, daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Building A, National Gallery of Indonesia.

Reviving Hardi’s Art and Legacy

Hardi, a prominent figure in Indonesian art, was renowned for his works that carried messages of resistance, social criticism, and cultural reflection. This exhibition showcases 78 pieces, including 69 paintings and sketches, 5 traditional jackets (jangker), 4 keris (traditional daggers), and personal archives. A standout feature of the exhibition is the memorabilia room, designed to resemble Hardi's personal studio. Equipped with artificial intelligence (AI)-based installations, this room offers an innovative, interactive approach, seamlessly merging traditional art with modern technology.
