THE LUXURY COLLECTION TAPS CHEF AND ARTIST LAILA GOHAR AS NEWEST GLOBAL EXPLORER
The Luxury Collection welcomes Laila Gohar as brand ambassador and Global Explorer.
Luxury hotel brand The Luxury Collection has appointed chef and artist Laila Gohar as its newest Global Explorer.
As a brand ambassador, Gohar has worked with the brand to create a barware collection inspired by her travels with The Luxury Collection, along with complementary cocktail recipes. The collection features mouth-blown glass, porcelain, needlework, and silversmithing and highlights global craft traditions that are disappearing.
In a statement, Philipp Weghmann, Vice President and Global Brand Leader of The Luxury Collection said: “We are delighted to welcome Laila Gohar as our newest Global Explorer. Her fresh perspective and passion for culinary and craft perfectly align with The Luxury Collection brand as we aim to offer our guests transformational cultural experiences through travel.”
Gohar has collaborated with local artisans to create each piece of the collection, which reflects the cultural traditions of different locations. For example, the Sake Cup and Bamboo Oshibori Tray were inspired by Suiran, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Kyoto. The Martini Glass and Olive Pick were influenced by SLS Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Beverly Hills, and the iconic architects who contributed to landmark projects in Los Angeles.
Gohar said: “Often the way a table or bar is set, and the objects used, are just as important as the food and beverage offerings themselves. I am thrilled to be working with The Luxury Collection to highlight the beauty of epicurean discovery and celebrate the local craftspeople that bring these experiences to life around the world.”
The Laila Gohar x The Luxury Collection barware collection is available for purchase on www.luxurycollectionstore.com, with prices ranging from $40 to $230 USD. A selection of products will also be available for purchase or to experience on-property at Prince de Galles in Paris, Suiran in Kyoto, and SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.
