Indonesia has once again shined on the international stage with Ketut Permata Juliastrid winning the prestigious Miss Cosmo 2024 title. Known affectionately as Tata Juliastrid, she captivated the judges from the quarantine period right through to the grand final, held on Saturday, October 5, 2024.

Tata Juliastrid, who also holds the title of Second Runner-Up at Puteri Indonesia 2024 and was crowned Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata 2024, was born in Denpasar on July 12, 2003. She is currently pursuing a degree in Fashion Design at the Bali Institute of Design and Business (IDB) and previously studied Management at Udayana University. Tata triumphed over 57 other finalists from around the world during the finale at Saigon Riverside Park in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

In the final round, a debate session, Tata faced off against the contestant from Thailand. Her poise, confidence, and wide-ranging knowledge helped her secure the win. This victory not only crowned her Miss Cosmo International 2024 but also earned her the highly sought-after “Impactful Crown.”

Beyond the beauty competition, Tata championed an important advocacy focused on sustainable plastic waste management. In her final presentation, she introduced the innovative use of QR code technology to track plastic waste, offering a way for individuals to contribute positively to the environment and create a healthier planet.

As revealed by the official Miss Cosmo 2024 Instagram account, Tata received a range of exciting prizes, including the coveted crown she will hold for a year, a cash prize of $100,000 USD (approximately IDR 1.5 billion), a car, and several other gifts.

Miss Cosmo International is a Vietnam-based beauty pageant, and 2024 marked its inaugural event. Organized by UNICorp and UNIMedia, two Ho Chi Minh City-based companies known for hosting international events, Miss Cosmo captured global attention with the participation of 58 contestants from across the globe.

Tata’s win at Miss Cosmo 2024 not only made her the first-ever winner of this pageant but also served as a powerful inspiration, especially for the younger generation. Her success highlights the importance of pursuing causes that positively impact both society and the environment. Through her achievement, Tata has proven that true beauty is about more than just appearances—it’s about making meaningful contributions to create a better world.
