CINTA LAURA APPOINTED NATIONAL AMBASSADOR OF UNICEF INDONESIA TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND CHILD PROTECTION

A meaningful partnership inspiring stronger protection, equal access, and brighter prospects for children nationwide

UNICEF Indonesia has officially appointed actress and public figure Cinta Laura Kiehl as its new National Ambassador. The announcement was made during a media event at the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia in February 2026. This appointment highlights the vital role public figures play in mobilizing community support and advocating for the rights and well-being of children throughout Indonesia.

In her new role, Cinta Laura will support UNICEF Indonesia’s advocacy efforts by raising awareness of key child rights issues. These include access to education, child protection, women’s empowerment, and climate action. With her strong public presence and ability to communicate messages in an engaging and relatable way, she is expected to help make children’s issues part of everyday conversations while strengthening the voices of children and young people across the country.

Maniza Zaman, UNICEF Representative to Indonesia, welcomed Cinta Laura into the global network of UNICEF Ambassadors. She emphasized that Cinta brings sincerity, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to understanding the real-life challenges faced by children. These qualities align closely with UNICEF’s mission to uphold and protect the rights of every child without exception.

Even before her official appointment, Cinta Laura had shown a sustained commitment to social causes affecting children and youth. She has actively supported several UNICEF initiatives, including campaigns to prevent child marriage and promote the right to education. Her continued involvement reflects a clear and consistent dedication to advancing child protection and empowerment.

In late 2025, Cinta Laura traveled to Asmat, Papua, with UNICEF. During the visit, she observed firsthand the challenges experienced by children and families in remote communities, as well as the ongoing efforts to address these needs. The visit also offered a closer look at how UNICEF works in partnership with the Government of Indonesia to strengthen essential services for children, including health, nutrition, education, and protection.

Her appointment comes ahead of UNICEF’s global 80th anniversary in December 2026. This milestone reinforces the organization’s long-standing commitment to safeguarding and promoting the rights of every child. Through her new role, Cinta Laura is expected to inspire broader collective action toward building a more inclusive and equitable future, where every child in Indonesia has the opportunity to grow, learn, and reach their full potential.
