CAMP BROADWAY INDONESIA MAKES A GRAND RETURN TO THE NEW YORK POPS 42ND ANNIVERSARY GALA

Shining on the global stage, achieving remarkable success, and bringing pride to the nation with exceptional talents

Camp Broadway Indonesia (CBI), the only officially licensed program by Broadway Education Alliance (BEA) Inc. in Southeast Asia, continues to bring pride to the nation on the international stage. As a platform for the development of performing arts for children and teenagers, CBI remains committed to its mission of using theater as a nurturing space that enhances the self-confidence, skills, and talents of Indonesia’s young generation through musical arts.

After successful performances in past New York Pops events, CBI has once again been selected to perform at The New York Pops 42nd Anniversary Gala, which will be held on April 28, 2025, at Carnegie Hall, New York City. This event presents a remarkable opportunity for talented children and teenagers from around the world to perform on one of the most prestigious concert stages. During the event, The New York Pops, the largest pop orchestra in the United States, led by Steven Reineke, will honor Diane Warren, the iconic songwriter who has created numerous legendary songs over her more than three-decade-long career.

The gala, organized to celebrate Diane Warren, will also feature renowned guest artists such as Sofia Carson, Ariana DeBose, Shoshana Bean, and LeAnn Rimes. These artists will deliver spectacular performances that honor Warren’s outstanding contributions to the global music industry.

Camp Broadway Indonesia is proud to announce the five young participants selected after auditions in Jakarta to join the Camp Broadway Ensemble on the stage of Carnegie Hall. These participants are Alysa Hana Mayko (12), Anaya Ranadewi Soerjo (16), Maria Nadindra (16), Paula Amabella Joesoef (16), and Pamela Amadea Joesoef (16). They are part of the 60 talented children and teenagers from around the world who were chosen to perform at this prestigious event, making Indonesia a key representative of Southeast Asia.

The selection and training process began under the guidance of Susan E. Lee, the founder of BEA Inc., and Theo Lencicki, the director and choreographer of the Camp Broadway Ensemble New York. The subsequent training sessions were led by CBI's creative team, including Adit Marciano (Artistic Director & Acting Instructor), Banyu (Acting Instructor), Moe (Vocal Director), and Nala Amrytha and Eva (Choreographers). The participants also underwent an intensive boot camp and workshop designed to refine their skills in acting, vocals, and dance.

This year, CBI has partnered with EKI Dance Company, one of Indonesia’s leading performing arts groups. This collaboration brings local cultural elements to the international stage, enriching the choreography to be performed by the participants at Carnegie Hall.

Adit Marciano, CBI's Artistic Director, said, "Bringing Indonesian children back to the global stage like Carnegie Hall is a great honor. This year feels even more special due to the collaboration with EKI Dance Company, which introduces local cultural elements to the international stage."

CBI's participation in this event demonstrates that the talents of Indonesia’s youth are capable of competing on the world stage. CBI remains committed to being an inclusive and safe space for young individuals who wish to pursue a professional career in the performing arts. For those who were not selected this year, opportunities will open again through auditions for the CBI Ensemble next year.

With this performance on such a prestigious stage, CBI further proves that Indonesian performing arts not only have immense potential at the national level but are also ready to compete on the global stage.
