Belmond has reaffirmed its status as a leading luxury travel brand by securing two awards at the World’s 50 Best Hotels 2024. Maroma, A Belmond Hotel in Riviera Maya, was recognized as the 18th best hotel in the world and also received the Flor de Caña Eco Hotel of 2024 award. Meanwhile, Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel in Cape Town, claimed the 28th position and was honored as the Best Hotel in Africa this year.

This year's ceremony, held at Guildhall in London, marks the second edition of the awards, which debuted successfully in 2023. The event gathered the global travel and hospitality community to celebrate the finest hotels worldwide, highlighting exceptional experiences that inspire travelers, consumers, and industry professionals alike.

Nestled amidst 200 acres of lush tropical forest and secluded white sandy beaches along Mexico's Caribbean coast, Maroma reopened in August 2023 after an extensive renovation. The hotel’s design embraces Maya traditions at its core, now featuring 72 rooms, suites, and villas with stunning ocean views, along with four dining venues that serve authentic local cuisine.

Maroma also unveiled the Maroma Spa by Guerlain, which includes an on-site pharmacy, and introduced Meliponario, a sanctuary for revered Melipona bees.
