Race the Rhythm Tangerang 10K: Sport, Story, and the Spirit of the City

Tangerang City is gearing up to host the prestigious Tangerang 10K, a collaborative running event involving the Tangerang City Government, Harian Kompas, and Bank BJB. Set to take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, the event carries the theme Run the Story, offering participants not only a sporting challenge but also an immersive cultural journey that highlights the rich identity of Tangerang.

With a target of two thousand five hundred runners from diverse backgrounds, Tangerang 10K aims to become a new hub for running enthusiasts while promoting the city widely recognized as the City of a Thousand Industries and Services. This event serves as a significant step toward establishing Tangerang as a national sport tourism destination, aligned with the local government’s effort to encourage healthy, active, and productive lifestyles.

A defining feature of this race is the integration of art and cultural performances along the route. Participants will encounter traditional attractions such as Tari Cokek and Tari Topeng Betawi at various route points, giving the race a distinct atmosphere and a deeper connection to Tangerang’s heritage. These cultural elements enhance the running experience, creating a vibrant and memorable journey for all who take part.

The official launch of Tangerang 10K was held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Vihara Boen San Bio. The launch showcased cultural symbols such as Chinese lanterns, Sundanese angklung, and Betawi bamboo fans, reflecting the diverse and harmonious spirit of Tangerang. These symbols were arranged on an illuminated totem, representing unity and the multicultural character of the city.

To ensure a smooth and safe event, the Tangerang City Government will mobilize support from multiple health and security divisions. Medical services will be provided by the Health Office, while race security and traffic management will be handled by the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the National Police, the Civil Service Police Unit, and the Transportation Agency.

The event also features The Frontliner program, an open call for Indonesia’s fastest runners. Selected athletes will compete in The Frontliner Showdown, a qualifying race designed to test speed, endurance, and competitive spirit, supporting efforts to strengthen the national running community.

By blending sports, history, and cultural heritage, Tangerang 10K stands as more than just a running event. It becomes a story of the city, written through the strides of its participants. This event embodies the pride, energy, and identity of Tangerang, marking the beginning of a new tradition filled with optimism and collective spirit.
