POLAND FESTIVAL 2024: STRENGTHENING TIES THROUGH CULTURE AND BUSINESS
An event to enhance Poland-Indonesia relations while creating opportunities for collaboration across various strategic fields
Jakarta once again hosted the 5th edition of the Poland Festival, organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) at Grand Lucky SCBD. This festival is the largest celebration of Polish culture, business, and innovation in Indonesia and across the ASEAN region. Through a program covering the FMCG, technology, education, and industrial sectors, the 2024 Poland Festival strengthens the bond between Poland and Indonesia, offering an experience that is not only entertaining but also educational and networking-oriented.
Since its inception in 2019, the Poland Festival has attracted over 500,000 visitors, making it one of the largest initiatives by a European Union country in Indonesia. The event is designed not only for the general public but also for stakeholders from various sectors, such as government and business. According to Jacek Kolomyjec, Head of PAIH Jakarta, the festival represents the strong commitment between the two countries to enhance cultural and economic relations. "We are very enthusiastic about how this platform empowers both countries to grow and understand each other significantly," he said.
The Poland Festival is not only a celebration but also a strategic platform to introduce Polish products and innovations to the Indonesian market. In the past five years, the presence of Polish brands in Indonesia’s FMCG sector has grown fivefold. This growth reflects not only the enthusiasm of Indonesians for Polish products but also the festival’s success in promoting Polish economic values. Additionally, the Poland Festival plays a role in educational exchange, with an increasing number of Indonesian students pursuing studies in Poland through scholarship programs.
Cezary Filipek, PAIH Jakarta’s Manager, emphasized that the Poland Festival is a long-term initiative aimed at building sustainable partnerships between the two countries. “We are committed to strengthening business relations and creating a foundation for joint growth through comprehensive strategic planning, as well as sharing the success stories of Poland’s economic transformation and its innovative technological solutions,” said Cezary. He added that the Poland Festival will continue to serve as a driving force in strengthening economic, cultural, and educational ties between Poland and Indonesia.
The coming years will be significant for the relationship between the two countries. In 2025, Poland will hold the presidency of the European Union, and in the same year, the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and Indonesia will be celebrated. This momentum is expected to foster cooperation in strategic fields such as green development, agriculture, creative industries, sustainable transportation, and electromobility. The 2024 Poland Festival thus serves as a significant initial step toward deeper collaboration and shared prosperity.
Through the Poland Festival, PAIH not only brings Polish culture to the Indonesian public but also offers an opportunity to deepen understanding of Polish technology, business, and education. This marks a close partnership and friendship between Poland and Indonesia that is set to continue and grow in the future.
