Guests at the renowned French hotel can now savor authentic Italian cuisine under the stars at Giovanni's

Antibes, June 24, 2023 - Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc is delighted to announce the newest addition to its esteemed culinary offerings with the opening of Giovanni's, an exclusive outdoor Italian restaurant that debuted on May 27. Nestled within the hotel's enchanting gardens, beneath a lush canopy of maritime pines, Giovanni's invites resident guests to indulge in exceptional Italian cuisine crafted by Executive Chef Sebastien Broda, Sicilian chef Marco Tringale, and renowned 2-time World Pizza Champion, Jeremy Viale.

Giovanni's, an intimate restaurant boasting 60 covers, is situated in a verdant grove adjacent to the hotel's legendary seaside cabanas. The alluring outdoor space, designed by interior designer Patricia Anastassiadis and architect Luc Svetchine, offers a picturesque setting for guests to savor authentic flavors from Italy against a backdrop of elegant outdoor decor.

Underneath a pergola adorned with trailing vines, tables are arranged around a central fountain, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a charming Italian piazza. In the open-air kitchen, the skilled pizzaiolo meticulously crafts each pizza to order before baking it to perfection in the traditional pizza oven.

The color palette of Giovanni's has been carefully chosen to harmonize with the surrounding nature. The lava stone tables, exuding a pristine white hue, blend seamlessly with the soft tones of green showcased on the handcrafted wicker chairs by Maison Bonacina. The plates, supplied by Popolo, an artisanal French ceramics producer based in Sicily, bear the signature mark of "Giovanni's." This name was selected by the hotel's Managing Director, Philippe Perd, in tribute to Giovanni Rizzi, one of the property's esteemed team members, who has devoted 47 years of his career to Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. Giovanni is beloved by guests for his warmth and innate hospitality.

As night falls and the stars twinkle above, Giovanni's is bathed in a subtle and gentle illumination, allowing the brilliance of the celestial sky to take center stage.

The menu at Giovanni's is a collaboration between Executive Chef Sebastien Broda, Sicilian Chef Marco Tringali, and Consultant Chef Jeremy Viale, a two-time World Pizza Champion, and three-time French title winner. The culinary ensemble has curated a selection of emblematic Italian dishes intended for sharing. Traditional antipasti offerings include burrata, Sicilian artichokes, and grilled marinated vegetables. Signature primi specials feature pasta Occhio di Lupo with San Marzano tomatoes and Perugine sausages, as well as a vegetarian pizza with pesto and courgette flowers. For heartier appetites, the secondi dishes include the chef's osso buco, Saint-Pierre filet from Ligure with violet artichokes, tomatoes, capers, and basil, or the Giovanni's giant king prawns accompanied by eggplant caponatina.

Indulgence awaits those with a sweet tooth on Giovanni's dessert menu, which offers delights such as rum baba served generously, shareable portions of tiramisu, and the ultimate pleasure: Giovanni's cup, a delightful assortment of fleur de lait ice cream adorned with a variety of delicious toppings.
