FLAVORS AND LIFESTYLE: POLAND SHOPPING DAY 2025 ENERGIZES SURABAYA WITH CULINARY AND PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS

A vibrant cultural encounter that showcased creativity through an immersive experience

Surabaya once again welcomed an international event as Poland Festival 2025 brought Poland Shopping Day to Hokky Citraland on November 22. This program formed part of a multi-city festival designed to strengthen cooperation between Poland and Indonesia in trade, lifestyle, innovation, and cultural exchange. Organized by the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) in collaboration with Hokky, the event introduced a diverse selection of Poland’s top products, ranging from food and beverages to household essentials, innovative goods, and globally recognized lifestyle items.

Throughout the celebration, visitors explored product showcases, enjoyed cultural performances, sampled various foods, and took advantage of exclusive promotions that highlighted the quality and creativity of Polish products. As a gesture of appreciation for retail partners who actively supported the promotion of Polish goods in Indonesia, the event also featured the Poland Shopping Day Awards.

Poland Shopping Day played an important role within Poland Festival 2025, an initiative that presented Poland’s innovation across multiple sectors. The festival was held in several major cities, including Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, and Medan, from October to November 2025. It aimed to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Poland and ASEAN countries through programs that covered FMCG, technology, gaming, culinary arts, education, and lifestyle.

The 2025 edition of Poland Shopping Day took place in three key cities through Indonesia’s premium supermarket networks. The series opened in Jakarta on November 16 at Grand Lucky SCBD, continued in Bali on November 21 at Grand Lucky Sanur, and concluded in Surabaya. Each venue featured dedicated Poland Shopping Day areas complete with cooking demonstrations, tasting sessions, Polish cultural showcases, and special promotions to introduce more Polish products to Indonesian consumers.

In Surabaya, the event also presented the Pierogi Tasting program, which quickly became one of its main highlights. The area offered live pierogi cooking demonstrations and sampling sessions that allowed visitors to experience the authentic flavors of this traditional Polish dish. This initiative reflected Poland’s experience first strategy, aimed at increasing consumer interest in European imported products.

By combining culinary experiences, educational elements, and direct interaction, Poland demonstrated its commitment to expanding its reach in Indonesia’s retail market. As international competition grows stronger, experience based approaches offer an effective way to capture consumer interest and build trust. Through Poland Shopping Day 2025, Poland Festival continued to introduce new perspectives on Polish innovation and culture to the Indonesian public, with Surabaya becoming one of its most engaging destinations this year.
