THE LOCAL MARKET 20TH EDITION: SHOWCASED 127 EXCEPTIONAL LOCAL BRANDS

It became an inspiring platform for local creators, showcasing high-quality products reflecting Indonesia's finest innovation and creativity

The Local Market by Ku Ka Aku Suka once again celebrated the local creative industry with its 20th edition, held from February 7–9, 2025, at Urban Forest, Cipete. This event served as a platform for 127 curated local brands to showcase their best products while also sharing the values and inspiring stories behind each creation.

As a platform committed to supporting the growth of local businesses, The Local Market was more than just a bazaar; it was an ecosystem that brought together entrepreneurs, communities, and consumers who deeply appreciated quality products. Each edition featured a unique theme, offering a shopping experience that went beyond mere transactions.

Collaboration for MSME Empowerment

For this edition, The Local Market collaborated with Octo Mobile by CIMB Niaga, a partnership aimed at strengthening support for Indonesia’s MSMEs. The presence of Octo Mobile not only facilitated seamless digital transactions but also provided greater opportunities for local brands to grow and reach a wider market.

Titonius Karto, Founder of Ku Ka and The Local Market, emphasized the importance of platforms like this in introducing and appreciating local products. “The strength of Indonesian local brands lies in the values and stories behind them—from the creators, the production process, to their vision and mission. Celebrations like The Local Market must continue to exist so that more people can recognize and support local products,” he stated.

Cultural Performances and Special Entertainment

As part of its 20th edition celebration, The Local Market featured various engaging programs to enhance visitors' experiences. One of the most anticipated events was a traditional cultural performance by Sanggar Budaya Widya Pramana Yogyakarta. Additionally, Suar Sanubari presented Lakon Sumpah Pemuda, a performance that depicted Indonesia’s journey toward unity through education and a shift in mindset. By blending visual projections, shadow puppetry, and live theatrical performances, this show delivered an immersive and meaningful artistic experience.

Beyond the cultural performances, visitors also enjoyed live music from local musicians and had the opportunity to explore a diverse selection of high-quality fashion, handcrafted goods, and Indonesian culinary delights.

Since its inception in 2017, The Local Market has provided a space for local creators to grow, network, and showcase their work to a wider community. With a strong spirit of education, collaboration, and empowerment, this event is expected to continue contributing to the strengthening of Indonesia’s local brand ecosystem in the future.
