A breathtaking fusion of ancestral rhythms, open-air art, and the raw beauty of sand

Mount Bromo, one of Indonesia’s most iconic natural landmarks, is once again the vibrant setting for Eksotika Bromo Festival 2025. This annual cultural event is currently underway from June 21 to 22, taking place in the Sea of Sand area in Pasuruan, East Java. As part of the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2025 series, the festival carries the theme “Ruwat Rawat Segoro Gunung,” reflecting a tribute to both nature and local cultural heritage.

Eksotika Bromo serves as a collaborative platform where art, tradition, and the environment come together. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Bromo’s volcanic landscape, the festival showcases the rich cultural expressions of the Tenggerese community and other East Javanese traditions. With its unique combination of visual beauty and spiritual depth, the event offers more than entertainment, it plays a vital role in preserving community-based cultural values.

Among this year’s featured programs are the traditional dance drama "Kidung Tengger," the East Java Percussion Festival, and an engaging photography workshop that blends learning with artistic exploration. Visitors can also enjoy various competitions and live performances, including live painting sessions, photo contests with themes of nature and culture, the Arca Tataswara performance, and a special batik line dance from Probolinggo.

The festival is free and open to everyone. Admission simply requires bringing one tree seedling, symbolizing a collective effort to support environmental conservation within the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.

Beyond the performances, Eksotika Bromo is a meeting point for artists, cultural figures, local communities, and visitors from all walks of life. Hundreds of artists from across the country are participating, with special appearances by Olivia Zalianty, Tikacya, Proborini, Pritta Kartika, and DJ QQS adding energy and variety to the cultural showcase.

Scheduled daily from 1 PM to 5 PM, the festival features a dynamic mix of traditional arts, cultural exhibitions, and local MSME booths. The mystical atmosphere of Mount Bromo, paired with the spirit of cultural celebration, creates a memorable and immersive experience.

Eksotika Bromo Festival 2025 is organized by Jatiswara Indonesia in collaboration with local communities and cultural stakeholders. It stands as a powerful expression of unity, cultural appreciation, and environmental stewardship. More than a festival, it is a meaningful journey that connects people to the earth and the timeless wisdom of their heritage.
