STRENGTHENING INDONESIA-SLOVAKIA COOPERATION THROUGH THE CELEBRATION OF SLOVAKIA'S CONSTITUTION DAY
Uniting and strengthening the spirit and diplomatic ties in an atmosphere filled with pride
The Slovak Embassy in Jakarta celebrated the 32nd anniversary of the Constitution of the Slovak Republic on September 19, 2024. The event, held in Jakarta, marked an important moment in strengthening the friendly relations between Indonesia and Slovakia. His Excellency Thomas Ferco, the Slovak Ambassador to Indonesia, opened the event alongside Dr. Ida Fauziyah, the Indonesian Minister of Manpower, who represented the Government of Indonesia. The presence of these two figures reflected both countries' commitment to fostering increasingly closer cooperation in various fields.
In her speech, Minister Ida Fauziyah emphasized the importance of the strong relationship between Indonesia and Slovakia. According to her, the cooperation between the two countries holds great potential for further development. She also highlighted that the collaboration could benefit both sides, particularly in the areas of economy and labor. With Indonesia's skilled human resources in various sectors, including manufacturing and automotive, Indonesia has a great opportunity to become a strategic partner for Slovakia, which is currently facing the challenge of an aging population and requires young, productive workers.
Ambassador Ferco also expressed optimism regarding the growing bilateral relations. He stated that the relations developed in recent years serve as a solid foundation for further development, particularly in economic cooperation. During the event, the embassy showcased the art and glass works of Slovak artist Achilleas Sdoukos, who was present to introduce his works to the guests. These pieces reflected the unique Slovak art and served as a cultural expression that strengthened the bond between the two countries.
In addition to the art display, guests were also able to enjoy a photography exhibition featuring the beauty of Slovakia through the lens of photographer Filip Kulišev. The photographs provided an intriguing visual representation of Slovakia's landscapes and culture. Furthermore, the event was enlivened by a performance from the Jakarta-based choir, Difertimento. Their performance added to the warm atmosphere and highlighted the cultural closeness between the two countries.
This Constitution Day celebration was not just a commemoration but also an important symbol of the growing friendship between Indonesia and Slovakia. Through this increasingly close collaboration, it is hoped that Indonesia and Slovakia can achieve significant progress in various fields. The cooperation also opens new opportunities for both countries to face global challenges together, strengthen their economies, and enhance mutually beneficial cultural exchanges.
