A FUSION OF PERUVIAN AND INDONESIAN CULTURE IN BANTENG PUCARA EXHIBITION

Immerse yourself in the vivid hues, age-old traditions, and narratives of Peru, seamlessly intertwined with the library's distinctive architecture.

The Embassy of Peru in Indonesia is excited to unveil the highly anticipated "Banteng Pucara Exhibition," a captivating cultural event that beckons attendees to delve into the intricate tapestry of Peruvian heritage. Scheduled to unfold from August 15th to 28th, 2023, at the esteemed Jakarta Cikini Library, this exhibition promises an enthralling experience for all.

The "Banteng Pucara Exhibition" serves as a mesmerizing window into the core of Peru's cultural identity. Through the exhibition's vibrant paintings of the Banteng Pucara, we gain insights into Peruvian history and the profound symbolism of this iconic bull.

At this event, two Indonesian artists, Ritzky Bayuswara and Andi Tohana, have collaboratively intertwined Peru's Bull symbolism with Indonesian culture. The synergy between these two cultures, as highlighted by Ritzky and Andi, encompasses unique patterns from Bali and Solo, employing a color palette of red and purple, symbolizing peace and prosperity.

This project has been fascinating for Ritzky and Andi, who are new to this type of painting. The medium they're working with is similar to 'tembikar,' a traditional Indonesian pottery technique. They're not only picking out parts of Indonesian culture to add in, but they're also getting really good at using the right colors with this medium.

Beyond this, the exhibition has joined forces with students from the "Republica del Peru" School in Jakarta. Out of the 20 artworks created by the students, 10 exceptional pieces have been chosen to be showcased within this event.

Do not overlook this golden opportunity to embark on a cultural journey! Mark your calendars for the "Banteng Pucara Exhibition." Immerse yourself in the vivid hues, age-old traditions, and narratives of Peru, seamlessly intertwined with the library's distinctive architecture. Engaging with literature against this cultural backdrop is an extraordinary experience exclusive to this event.
