FASHION SHOW AT FRENCH AMBASSADOR'S RESIDENCE HIGHLIGHTED CREATIVITY AND DIPLOMACY DURING PINTU FASHION WEEK 2025

A beautifully curated moment that brought together cross-cultural creations in a vibrant celebration of creativity

The elegant garden of the French Ambassador's Residence in Indonesia was transformed into an intimate and captivating open-air fashion stage on July 29, 2025. That Tuesday evening, Ambassador Fabien Penone hosted a special reception and fashion show as part of a visit by a delegation of French designers and fashion experts participating in the France-Indonesia PINTU incubator program.

The event was one of the highlights of PINTU Focus Week 2025, which commemorated 75 years of diplomatic relations between France and Indonesia. It featured collections by graduates of École Duperré Paris and three emerging Indonesian designers selected through the PINTU program: Prafitra Viniani (Apakabar), Vincent Mikhael (Denimitup), and Muhammad Hafiz (Lil Public). The event served as a platform for creative exchange between the two nations through contemporary fashion.

In his welcoming speech, Fabien Penone expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event. He highlighted the importance of cross-cultural and artistic collaboration as a bridge for mutual understanding. He thanked guests for attending and supporting the initiative, encouraging them to enjoy the remarkable fashion presentation. His remarks were met with warm applause from the audience.

Fifteen fashion looks were presented under soft lighting and accompanied by multimedia projections that enhanced the mood of each collection. From the French side, Pierre Pinget introduced a collection titled Sartoria and Mafia, which offered a fresh interpretation of power and identity through classic suits worn by strong female figures. Mathilde Reneaux’s collection Syrius, it dog explored the complex relationship between humans and animals, critiquing consumerist aesthetics in luxury fashion.

From Indonesia, Prafitra Viniani presented a standout cosmic-themed collection titled GEN.TRA – The Sound of the Universe, which incorporated innovative materials such as Mylea mushroom leather and Dyera tree ink. These garments not only offered striking visuals but also included sonifications of the universe, adding a multi-sensory layer to the fashion experience.

The event demonstrated that fashion goes beyond trends. It is a powerful storytelling medium that connects cultures, values, and forward-thinking visions. Behind the dresses, suits, and experimental fabrics, the show highlighted the strength of creative collaboration between France and Indonesia in shaping a more reflective and sustainable future for fashion.
