UOB Indonesia launched the 14th UOB Painting of the Year (POY) competition on May 7, 2024, welcoming emerging and professional artists to showcase their creativity. As part of its commitment to supporting arts development in the ASEAN region, UOB Indonesia focuses on nurturing artists and providing opportunities for them to contribute to the vibrant world of art.

In conjunction with the 14th UOB POY competition in Indonesia, UOB Indonesia introduces the culinary concept 'Palette to Plate: When Art Meets Flavour.' This initiative aims to enhance public appreciation for art while offering a fusion of taste and creativity. 'Palette to Plate: When Art Meets Flavour' will be available at Remboelan outlets from May 8 to August 24, 2024, inviting art enthusiasts and the public to savor a culinary experience inspired by art.

The collaboration between UOB Indonesia and Remboelan Indonesian Soul Food Restaurant (Remboelan) has led to a series of unique menus inspired by the winning artworks of the 13th UOB POY:
1. Compassionate Nourishment: A Culinary Ode to Dear Mothers
2. Mango Lens: Distorted Realities
3. Legacy's Echo: A Culinary Tribute to Phantasma 2

Maya Rizano, Head of Strategic Communications and Brand at UOB Indonesia, expressed pride in launching the 14th UOB POY competition. This competition not only celebrates diversity and talent but also provides a platform for new and professional artists to showcase their works to the public.

Furthermore, through the 'Palette to Plate: When Art Meets Flavour' initiative, UOB Indonesia aims to offer a unique experience for the public to taste the winning artworks of the 13th UOB POY through food. By combining art and cuisine, they hope to inspire and engage the community in exploring artistic expression.

The 14th UOB POY competition in Indonesia is open to all citizens and permanent residents of Indonesia. Participants can submit their artworks from May 7 to August 2, 2024, through the UOBandArt.com website. The jury panel comprises Melati Suryodarmo (Chair of the Jury), Dr. Agung Hujatnika, and Heri Pemad.

The winners of the 14th UOB POY competition in Indonesia will be announced on October 16, 2024. The overall winner will also compete with winners from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam for the UOB Southeast Asia Painting of the Year award, with the opportunity to participate in a residency program sponsored by UOB. The announcement of the winners of the UOB Southeast Asian Painting of the Year will take place on November 13, 2024, in Singapore.

This collaboration between art and cuisine is expected to inspire more people to explore artistic expression and experience the beauty inherent in artworks, thereby continuing to support the development of art in Indonesia and the ASEAN region.
