ArtMoments Jakarta 2024 has officially opened its doors, welcoming art enthusiasts and collectors to the Grand Ballroom of Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Hotel. Running from August 9 to 11, 2024, with a special VIP preview on the opening day, this year's fair centers around the theme of "Renewal." This theme explores various facets of human experience, including personal growth, social transformation, cultural revival, technological advancement, and environmental sustainability.

Dr. Sendy Widjaja, Co-Founder and Fair Director, stated, “ArtMoments has become a dynamic and immersive platform for galleries and artists to delve into the multidimensional theme of ‘Renewal.’” The event aims to inspire, challenge, and celebrate all forms of renewal, promoting a deeper understanding of transformation and growth across personal, social, and environmental contexts. “We have traveled the world to select artworks, choosing the best pieces to inspire Indonesian artists and enhance Indonesia’s image in the international community. Our hope is also that Indonesian collectors can own the world's finest art,” Sendy added.

Aligned with the theme of "Renewal" and principles of environmental sustainability, ArtMoments Jakarta is gradually evolving into an eco-friendly art exhibition. This initiative includes short-term strategies like using low-emission materials, as well as long-term plans for sustainable booth designs. “To demonstrate our commitment to green art fairs, we use recycled panels to reduce wood consumption, helping combat deforestation. We also utilize LED lights, which save thousands of watts. These two measures alone can significantly cut carbon emissions,” Sendy explained.

ArtMoments Jakarta always features the works of renowned artists that capture attention. Among them is Aboudia, a contemporary artist of American-Ivorian descent based in Brooklyn, New York. Also highlighted is Heri Dono, the first Indonesian artist to gain international recognition in the early 1990s, celebrated for his innovative installation art. Additionally, Pongbayog, a contemporary Filipino artist, has made headlines with his record-breaking sale of "Share the Love" for an impressive PHP 2.4 million at the Spectacular Mid-Year Auction 2024. Ren Zhe (任哲), a pioneer of contemporary Chinese sculpture, is also renowned for his dynamic sculptures that seamlessly blend traditional Chinese themes with modern techniques.

The event opened with a performance by Heri Dono, showcasing collections from leading national and international galleries that feature a diverse array of modern, contemporary, and new media art. The fair includes curated art tours and various supporting events, along with engaging discussions led by experts on significant topics, creating ample opportunities for learning and networking. Furthermore, an auction will take place in collaboration with the S. Sudjojono Center & Larasati Auction House.
