ART EXHIBITION ‘ACROSS MOUNTAINS AND RIVERS’ BY YIN ZHAOYANG AT MOCA SINGAPORE
Immerse yourself in the majestic landscapes and deep cultural reflections
The Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) Singapore is excited to present the art exhibition Across Mountains and Rivers by Yin Zhaoyang. The exhibition is open from January 23 to March 16, 2025, and runs daily from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM at 39 Keppel Rd #01-01, Singapore.
Yin Zhaoyang’s exhibition draws inspiration from the stunning landscapes of Mount Song in Henan, China. The majestic mountains and flowing rivers depicted in his works serve as powerful metaphors for human experience and the collective memories embedded in culture.
A standout piece in this exhibition is the triptych titled Mount Song After-snow, which spans an impressive 300 x 900 cm. With meticulous detail and vivid colors, the painting captures the tranquil beauty of Mount Song after a snowfall. This oil-on-canvas masterpiece not only highlights the natural splendor but also evokes a sense of serenity and emotional depth that resonates with viewers.
Known for blending classical motifs with modern themes, Yin Zhaoyang creates art that sparks reflection. In this exhibition, he merges traditional Chinese landscape painting with the aesthetic influences of the Song Dynasty, producing works that are both timeless and relevant to contemporary sensibilities.
For over ten years, Yin has immersed himself in the traditions of Chinese landscape painting, exploring its cultural roots while embracing new creative directions. His art reflects the journey of a generation—its struggles, triumphs, and the quest for inner peace. Through this ongoing exploration, Yin revives shared memories that celebrate human resilience and the evolving landscape of Chinese culture.
The opening of Across Mountains and Rivers also marks an important milestone for MoCA Singapore, as the museum reopens its doors after renovations. This exhibition is a key moment in the Asian art scene.
For art lovers, this exhibition offers an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss the chance to explore Yin Zhaoyang’s visionary work, which delves into the deep connection between nature, culture, and art. Visit the exhibition to experience its beauty firsthand.
