ARCHIPELAGO STRENGTHENS LOCAL ECONOMY THROUGH COLLABORATION WITH MSMES ACROSS 29 HOTELS IN INDONESIA

A meaningful stay where culture, craftsmanship, and local flavors come together in every corner

Archipelago, the largest hotel operator in Southeast Asia, continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the local economy. One of the key initiatives is a strategic collaboration with micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in 29 of its hotels across Indonesia.

Through this collaboration, hotel guests can easily discover a wide range of authentic local products, from traditional snacks and handcrafted souvenirs to eco-friendly goods that promote sustainability. Some of the featured products include authentic regional delicacies, traditional fabrics such as batik and woven textiles, handmade crafts, high-quality leather goods like bags, shoes, and wallets, as well as upcycled products that empower local communities.

“This collaboration reflects our dedication to making our hotels more than just a place to stay. We want them to be a bridge that connects guests with local culture while supporting the growth of MSMEs in each region,” said John Flood, CEO of Archipelago.

This initiative is available at selected Archipelago hotels in various provinces, including Sumatra (Harper Wahid Hasyim Medan), Riau Islands (favehotel Nagoya, Harper Premier Nagoya Batam), West Java (favehotel Braga, Grand Aston Puncak, Aston Cirebon, Harper Purwakarta, Aston Inn Tasikmalaya), and Jakarta (favehotel PGC Cililitan).

In Central Java, the collaboration extends to The Alana Yogyakarta, Aston Purwokerto, Aston Inn Pandanaran Semarang, Quest Hotel Simpang Lima Semarang, favehotel Manahan, favehotel Solo Baru, and The Alana Hotel Solo. East Java is also participating with Aston Gresik, Aston Sidoarjo, favehotel Sidoarjo, Aston Madiun, favehotel Madiun, favehotel Tuban, and Aston Banyuwangi.

Meanwhile, in Eastern Indonesia, the program is available at Harper Kupang, and in Kalimantan at Aston Samarinda, favehotel Banjarmasin, and Hotel Neo Palma Palangkaraya. In Sulawesi, guests can experience this initiative at favehotel Bitung and Harper Perintis Makassar.

Each hotel offers a curated experience that reflects the unique cultural character of its region. Guests can conveniently purchase a variety of local products in hotel lobbies, guest rooms, and even minibars.

Through this initiative, Archipelago aims to continuously support local economic growth, create new opportunities for MSMEs, and provide guests with a more meaningful and culturally rich stay.
